What does this role look like?

Lockheed Martin Space has embarked on a transformational journey – destination the future. Digital Transformation is Lockheed Martin’s path to the future with its interconnected environment where data becomes information and information drives decisions that create value across the entire lifecycle. To help us along this journey Space is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Digital Transformation Systems Engineer. We’re looking for someone with passion and enthusiasm in systems architecture and modeling, requirements development and management, risk and opportunity management, and needs identification and roadmap development!

This Systems Engineer role you will support the Lockheed Martin Space Digital Transformation Office with three primary areas of focus:

1) Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems--analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
2) Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of process or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
3) Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.

This role will be a lead in the Space Digital Transformation Systems Engineering & Architecture team reporting under the Systems Engineering& Architecture Manager with guidance and direction from the Chief Systems Engineer, Chief Enterprise Architect, and the Space Digital Transformation Office Sr Leader, but will be expected to communicate their responsibilities up to Sr Leadership regularly and proactively, across the Digital Transformation broader team, and execute their duties with guidance from leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

- Familiarity with SysML
- Familiarity with MBSE tools and common modeling approaches
- Familiarity with techniques to manage system models
- Familiarity with MBSE execution and analysis tools
Desired Skills:
To be successful, ideally, you should also have:

- Cameo/MagicDraw
- OCSMP System Modeling Certification
- Experience with OOSEM
- Integrating analysis tools via ModelCenter
- Demonstrated basic understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors
- Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or disciplines outside of Systems Engineering
- Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members
- You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
