WHAT WE'RE DOING

Join the EADGE-T team and help modernize an integrated air and missile defense and air battle management capability for the United Arab Emirates. As part of the UAE Tech Refresh, you'll support hardware modernization and foundational cybersecurity enhancements while helping deliver the next generation of this mission-critical system.

Working alongside an international customer, you'll help develop and deploy secure communications infrastructure supporting one of Lockheed Martin's premier international defense programs.

THE WORK

As a Staff Network Communications Engineer, you'll lead the design, integration, security, and optimization of high-performance communications networks supporting mission-critical air and missile defense operations.

Working across systems, software, cybersecurity, hardware, and integration teams, you'll develop resilient network architectures, guide technical implementation, mentor engineers, and help ensure secure, reliable communications across multiple security domains.

PLEASE NOTE

  • This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.


  • This position is a full-time expatriate assignment based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is 100% onsite.


  • This position may require travel to customer locations throughout the UAE and occasional support for overnight or weekend integration and test activities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and development of secure network architectures by translating system requirements into scalable, resilient, and mission-ready network solutions.


  • Develop network infrastructure strategies, including LAN/WAN architecture, firewall policies, IP addressing, Quality of Service (QoS), encryption, authentication, and network monitoring.


  • Lead the integration of routers, switches, firewalls, and supporting infrastructure while ensuring compliance with applicable DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).


  • Optimize network performance through capacity planning, traffic engineering, latency analysis, proactive monitoring, and resolution of complex network issues.


  • Implement cybersecurity best practices, including Zero Trust principles, NIST 800-53 controls, firewall management, and secure communications across multiple security domains.


  • Drive network automation and configuration management using technologies such as Ansible, Python, SNMP, NETCONF, CLI tools, and scripting to improve deployment consistency and operational efficiency.


  • Develop technical documentation, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical leadership throughout the network design, integration, and deployment lifecycle.

EADGE-T is a geographically dispersed Agile engineering team delivering the UAE Tech Refresh. Our engineers collaborate across systems, software, hardware, cybersecurity, networking, and integration disciplines to deliver next-generation air and missile defense capabilities.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with an international customer while leading the delivery of advanced communications infrastructure supporting critical mission systems.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Communications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Cyber Security
- 5+ years of hands on network engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior/lead capacity on complex, high availability networks.
Certifications:
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE (Routing & Switching or Data Center) or Juniper JNCIA (preferred)/JNCIP/JNCIE, Arista EOS, etc.).
- CompTIA Network+, Security+
Knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, VLAN tagging, RSTP, LAG, VTEP, BGP, OSPF, GRE, MPLS, TLS, IPsec, MACsec.
Proficiency with network hardware (Juniper (preferred), Cisco, Palo Alto, DELL, Arista
Strong scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).
- Familiarity with network logging tools (ArcSight, Splunk, other Syslog tools)
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, IDS/IPS, VPNs, PKI, stateful/stateless firewall with ALG, and symmetric/asymmetric encryption methods, cryptographic hash functions and familiarity of NSA CSFC capabilities & algorithms
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities; leadership and mentorship aptitude.
- Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
- 5 years of experience in Network Communications as a network device SME
- Experience with Juniper EX, QFX, SRX, and MX products
Network Management: Juniper Apstra, Mist, Ansible (configuration deployment), Syslog, NTPv4, NETConf, SNMPv2/v3
- Virtual Hypervisor & Micro Services: VMWare VCF (understanding of vSwitch and vSAN, VM interfaces), K8 (understanding of Kubernetes and containers’ network interfaces and ports)
- Experience with high capacity fiber optics MMF and SM i.e. 10/25/40/100 Gbps data rates
Wireshark/PCAP and/or TCPDUMP/LIBPCAP packet analysis
- Network Monitoring tools. Must have experience with SNMP v2c/v3
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
