Description:Within the Rotary Mission Systems (RMS) Business Area, we are seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join our high-profile team supporting LM’s pursuit of numerous DoD 5G related efforts. One of the goals of this team is to operationalize 5G technology to enable resilient communications supporting Joint All Domain Operations (JADO) for our Department of Defense (DoD) customers.
This position is for a College Direct Placement (CDP) RF Engineer. The successful candidate will have an engineering degree which includes coursework and applied experience in RF theory and wireless communication technology. As an RF engineer, you will be working on a cross-functional team to design, develop, integrate and test emerging capabilities using 5G protocols, technologies, and equipment. Therefore a strong interest in 5G/NextG technologies and a drive for continual learning will allow you to thrive on this team.

Day to day, the candidate will get exposure to the RF system design consisting of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, amplifiers and RF conversion elements. You will contribute to the analysis and testing of RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. You will contribute to link analysis, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Your team will operate using Agile scrum methodologies. As entry level RF engineer, you will work under general direction from senior team members to ensure product development aligns with high level program requirements.
This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level, but it is not required to start.
Basic Qualifications:
• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• Knowledge of RF theory
• Applied experience in wireless communications
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of cellular technologies (e.g., 3GPP, 4G LTE, or 5G NR)
• Modeling and simulation experience
• Hardware test and integration experience
