As a Senior Radio Frequency (RF) /Radar Systems Engineer with Lockheed Martin Space, you will contribute toward the development and delivery of RF, optical, and digital solutions for hypersonics and other space and missile platforms.
Typical responsibilities: Architect and design RF systems and circuitry. Design and develop RF circuitry for high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Develop RF system and subsystem architectures consisting of antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements, and transmission line equipment. Perform link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Develop and allocate RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Identify and track RF technical performance measurements. Perform RF system / subsystem / component trade studies and cost as an independent variable analysis. Support life cycle costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analyses. Execute hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Prepare test methods and specifications, analyze and test RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provide inputs to product development for formal documentation and support manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phase.
The Senior RF Engineer position emphasizes ‘systems thinking’ throughout the lifecycle of payloads, subsystems, and RF components.
Typically has 5 to 9 years of experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience defining performance and functionality of a monopulse or synthetic aperture radar subsystem, consistent with mission needs and CONOPS
• Experience with developing and analyzing technical requirements, performing trade studies, and allocating functions down to the radar subsystem
• RF circuit and/or antenna design and analysis using HFSS, XPatch, CST, Agilent ADS, or similar software
• Experience with Matlab, Python, or similar programming language and scripting of testing and simulations
• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or similar degree with 3 to 6 years experience in RF / antenna / radar design, test, or prototyping
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance or higher
Desired Skills:
• Integration and test of radar systems, RF payloads, or missile subsystems
• Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering or similar degree from an accredited university
• Industry experience with RF measurement techniques and network analyzers, including troubleshooting experience with test setup and equipment
• Successful experience interfacing with customer contacts and colleagues in other organizations
• Comfortable representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects
• Radar Cross Section (RCS) simulation and analysis using full-wave method of moments tools such as SENTRi or FEKO
