This position is a rare opportunity… an opening on one of Lockheed Martin’s most successful programs! Come join the MARK IV-B team! We are the leading weather program of US Armed Force that receives meteorological satellite data from all over the world. Our 9 ground station around the world provide critical situation awareness weather data for our frontline troops. Our servers control the antennas, obtain and manipulate the data, then provide the images to our client product. Our client product itself provides our users with countless functionalities for our downloaded data. MARK IV-B handles everything from start to finish. We are currently looking to expand our field operations team and will create the perfect role for the right individual.

This engineering position is responsible for the upkeep, monitoring, and troubleshooting of complex network infrastructure supporting mission critical systems. The role ensures high availability, optimal performance, and compliance with security standards across LAN, WAN, and satellite communication links. This position requires hands on maintenance experience, a solid understanding of network protocols, and the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly. This position will also assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of field sites, acting as support. This position requires a Secret Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs, and related network hardware.

- Monitor network health and initiate corrective actions for alarms and performance degradations.
- Conduct fault isolation and root cause.

- Apply configuration changes, firmware upgrades, and security patches

- Maintain accurate network drawings

- Participate in on call rotation, providing after hours support and rapid response to network incidents.

- Assist in the design and implementation of network improvements

Physical Demands & Work Environment - Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 50 lb; work in confined spaces, racks, and elevated platforms. - Exposure to electromagnetic fields and occasional outdoor conditions for antenna or field site work. - Standard office environment with occasional travel to remote sites and data centers.
Basic Qualifications:
-Proficient with routing/switching platforms.

-Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including routing and switching protocols and performance‑enhancement technologies.

-Experience with network security devices (firewalls, IDS/IPS) and VPN technologies.

-Familiarity with network monitoring/management tools.

-Ability to read and modify device configurations via CLI and GUI.

-System Maintainer experience

-Active Secret Clearance

-Security + certification
Desired Skills:
-MARK IV-B system knowledge

-Experience with satellite communications and tactical networking.

-Certifications Cisco CCNA or equivalent

-Experience with Windows operating system

-Experience with hardware engineering

-Ability to reframe the issue to find a solution when roadblocks arise

-Experience performing technical orders verification/certification

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
