Lockheed Martin is looking for a Mission Management (MM) ground system Chief Engineer (CE) for the Stinger campaign and future program pursuits, part of the Space Security & Intelligence family of programs. We excel at providing National Security Space capabilities that help maintain a technical advantage over our nation’s adversaries. This position serves as the technical lead for defining and architecting LM’s Mission Management solution offerings in advanced of expected future Stinger MM pursuits. The Stinger MM CE will be the technical authority for the further definition and refinement of our Stinger MM solution concepts. They will help shape our solution strategy and serve as the key subject matter expert in both internal and external engagements. The preferred candidate should possess the skillset and experience to lead and align the Mission Management System with System of Systems architecture(s) including space to ground interactions. The Stinger MM CE will directly involved in the application DevSecOps lifecycle, agile road-mapping and planning, software

As the Stinger Mission Management Solution Chief Engineer, your roles and responsibilities will include:

• Be the Stinger MM technical authority for pre-proposal, proposal, and if successful, the program execution.
• Work collaboratively with Stinger ground counterparts in Strategy and Business Development during solution definition phases and with a NSS/SSI Line of Business program manager for execution of resulting Stinger MM program wins
• Initially lead a small ad-hoc team of ground system engineers in refining LM’s Stinger MM solution concepts to ensure we have a well-defined, executable solution ready in time for anticipated customer proposal(s).
• Act as the technical lead for any Stinger MM proposals; helping to form technical solution authoring team and authoring portions of the proposal
• Act as our Stinger MM Subject Matter Expert in discussions with customers, potential teammates and with LM’s internal product line and IRAD efforts working related areas
• Engagement with other related programs to exploit opportunities for design and software reuse that can reduce risk, accelerate schedules and reduce implementation cost
• Providing timely communications with LM leadership with a focus on placing events and issues in the right context (e.g. risk & opportunities, external service dependencies).
• Identify and implement cost, schedule, and/or quality improvement initiatives especially as they are enabled by new digital capabilities being fielded by the enterprise
• The successful candidate must also have ability to organize, motivate and lead groups of engineering personnel, and demonstrate in-depth technical skills.
• During program execution, Management and timely resolution of the program top technical issues to include assembling the teams, providing technical guidance, engaging the enterprise, and communicating with the customers.
• Some travel (~10%) will be expected.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering or other relevant technical discipline

• Significant knowledge and experience with ground systems agile software development for the mission management of spacecraft, including defining new ground system features and solution designs

• Experience supporting software system cost estimating; awareness of cost account management principles, techniques, and processes

• Demonstrated experience as a technical leader, coordinating across multiple teams

• U.S. citizenship with an Active TS security clearance with the ability to be granted an SCI security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to communicate successfully across all levels of an organization from entry level to executive Vice Presidents

• Broad understanding of the Stinger customer’s ground systems environment; including security and deployment requirements and standards

• Experience with the Stinger mission, programs and/or Stinger-legacy programs

• Experience developing vehicle and payload-specific mission planning, scheduling and assessment models, software, interfaces and databases

• Demonstrated experience authoring a proposal technical solution and response

• Experience developing mission management solutions for proliferated, heterogenous space constellations

• Demonstrated Experience leading a ground system software development effort, including testing and feature/requirement verification and sell-off activities

• Experience with delivering software via DevSecOps

• Experience on a project using the Scale Agile Framework

• Experience with the application of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning in ground system software

• Experience establishing and forming a new project team distributed across multiple locations

• Experience or training in Model-based System Engineering

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $164,300 - $289,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
