Job Responsibilities
Description:The selected candidate will serve as the Global Sustainment (GS) In-Service Ship Design (ISSD) Waterfront Technical Team Representative within the Small Combatant and Ship Systems (SCSS) market segment.
The selected candidate will coordinate and oversee the waterfront of ship modernization, alteration, and repair designs and specifications, in support of programs including US Navy Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), the Multi-Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC), and other ship alteration and availability planning capture efforts.
This position takes direction from the ISSD Waterfront Lead to provide technical oversite of integration and installation efforts, inclusive of performance to schedule, budget and technical or quality requirements.
Will provide onsite liaison support to our customers and contracted ship repair activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant technical standards and specifications.
They will actively engage in troubleshooting and correction of significant shipboard technical issues and casualties. They support the resolution of class design issues, lessons learned, quality and other activities related to ship design and sustainment including documentation of ship systems configuration changes.
The selected candidate will work closely with ISSD Planning, Design, and Estimating teams. As required, will provide support to the program management office (PMO), finance, planning, subcontracts and engineering personnel as part of a cross-functional program team, and direct efforts of the Ship Alteration and Availability Planning team that includes:
• Being the onsite ISSD technical point of contact across multiple ships and availabilities to ensure they are integrated per contract cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
• Serve as the ISSD onsite point of contact for LM Program Managers, Government Customers, Design Agents, Executing Activities, and LM personnel.
• Other assigned work from the ISSD Team Lead or ISSD Waterfront Lead
• Ensuring adherence to and maintaining ISSD processes and procedures for product development and services
• Providing progress reports to functional and program management, and preparing and presenting ISSD product status for internal and external customer briefings and formal reviews
• Requires travel (approx. 20%) to support changing ship locations.

Basic Qualifications:
1. Experience developing ship repair work item packages based on:
a. Effective knowledge of ship hull, mechanical and electrical systems implementation, and integration.
b. Effective knowledge of ship navigation, communication, and combat systems implementation and integration.
c. Detailed experience interpreting design drawings to support installation or repair of ship systems.
d. Effective knowledge of Naval Ship technical requirements and specifications
2. Experience with troubleshooting naval ship systems with the development of the solution design.
3. Experience working with customer technical representatives.
4. Experience simultaneously managing multiple projects in multiple locations.
5. Technical Team Leadership.

Desired Skills:
1. Knowledge of LCS and/or MMSC programs, ships, and systems
2. Ten years of experience in a public or private shipyard production or engineering department.
3. Five years of waterfront experience related to the installation or integration of technical projects.
4. Experience with Joint Forces Maintenance Manual (JFMM), specifically with the development of 4E Work Specifications, and the use of NAVSEA Standard Items.
5. Navy ship Hull, Mechanical, Electrical (HM&E), Deck equipment and Combat Systems equipment and systems expertise.
6. Drafting experience developing ship repair and construction Computer Aided Design (CAD) products across several disciplines.
7. Shipyard Apprentice School Graduate within a Ship/Marine Design discipline.
8. Project Management experience, including oversite of subcontractors.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
