Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Materials and Process Engineer. In this role, you will participate in technical assignments related to design, manufacture and test of a clean sheet, highly complex, missile system; have a hand in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis for parts, materials and processes; prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports; coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement/Supply Chain organization. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of design, analysis, and/or construction of mechanical parts or materials; be a self-starter who develops solutions to technical issues; be a motivated individual who's able to work closely within a geographically diverse team to resolve technical issues and be able to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
This position is contingent upon program award expected in Fall 2022
• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering or related background or field of study from an accredited college or university
• Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of mechanical parts or materials
• Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is
located at a facility that requires special access.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, bill of materials, alloys and heat treatment, polymeric materials and corrosion control methods
• Familiarity with technical requirements and engineering standards used in aerospace (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, computers and network systems.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task, with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Energetic, detail oriented and enjoy working in dynamic development environment with shifting priorities
• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $68,700 - $114,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
This position is incentive plan eligible"Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
