This technical team lead position is on the Battery Operation Center (BOC) Integration Team. The selected candidate will be responsible for mechanical/electrical design integration activities. This lead position will assure communications and integrations integrity between BOC hardware, software, test and systems production and quality. Support will also be provided to major design reviews (TIMs, PDR, CDR) and development articles for hardware in the loop, as well as prototype production, including design for long term operations and maintenance, and all necessary development planning activities.
Basic Qualifications:
1) Ability to lead teams in design and integration (procurement, fabrication, installation) activities through delivery to the program.
2) Knowledge of design engineering, quality, and assembly military standards in the missile defense/space arena.
3) Possessing a DoD Secret Clearance.
4) Knowledge and application of Engineering and Integration functions and processes including one or more of the following:
a) System trade studies
b) Design reviews
c) Configuration management
5) Experience in the integration of hardware and software systems across multiple design disciplines and subsystems
Desired Skills:
1) Cost account management (CAM) experience.
2) Experience with aerospace ground support equipment design.
3) Hardware experience, including electrical or mechanical design, analysis, assembly, integration or test.
4) Experience using EPDM Windchill, SAP and design tools.
5) Ability to effectively manage change.
6) Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers.
7) Proficient with CAD modeling, drafting and release in PTC Creo/Windchill or equivalent software.
8) A problem-solver with strong skills in decision-making (related to cost, schedule, technical and risk), and closure (dedication to close open items/issues) to ensure mission success
9) Good facilitator and able to lead resolution of issues
10) Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex design information, technical decisions and issues to both highly technical and non-technical reviewers.
11) Ability to analyze data from subsystems and demonstrate compatibility, assess requirements compliance, identify and resolve risks, and implement opportunities for improved solutions vs. system requirements
12) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers
13) Air & Missile Defense (AMD), Strike Weapon, or other large-scale weapon system experience
14) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or related experience in lieu of a degree
15) Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional integrated product development team environment.
