National Team-Engineering (NT-E) is MDA’s one-stop shop for systems engineering reach-back into the major companies that build the essential elements of the MDS. Systems engineers on the National Team are helping to drive the future systems that will protect the United States, its friends and allies for generations to come.

The National Team has an immediate need for an experienced staff-level systems analyst to perform the following tasks:
• Perform simulation based end-to-end functional and performance analysis of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) utilizing large-scale complex BMDS Modeling and Simulation (M&S) tools
• Develop modeling and simulation tools in support of system engineering discrimination products for the MDA
• Support end-to-end analysis on discrimination products for the BMDS
• Perform development, updates, and benchmarking/anchoring of BMDS M&S tools to support system level analysis and discrimination tasks
• Document analysis results in reports and briefings to be presented to the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives
• Perform as a systems investigator as part of a larger team
• This position is in Huntsville, AL.
Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrated capability to perform systems analysis and performance analysis tasks
• Demonstrated numerical modeling and simulation capability using a high-level programming language (e.g. MATLAB, Python, Java, FORTRAN) or experience analyzing output
• Demonstrated experience in any of the following domains: system concept trade studies, operational analysis, requirements analysis, feasibility analysis, system performance measures of effectiveness analysis (incl. technical performance measures), discrimination methods and techniques definition, EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, missiles/interceptors, ICBM / hypersonic / MRM / SRM threats, discrimination analysis, detection/tracking, or Command and Control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.)
• Must have analysis experience in aspects of the Ballistic missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control (FOM, GFC), C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, counter-countermeasures, or threat systems
• Must be able to effectively communicate orally and written to a diverse audience.
• Must be comfortable of working both independently and in a team environment
• Must have an active Top-Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
National Team employees may have the opportunity to work on a variety of specialized projects based on their backgrounds. The following skills are desirable, but not required to be considered a strong candidate for this position. If you have experience in one or more of the topics listed below, please note it on your resume:

• Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.)
• Element-level experience with Analysis, Assessment, or Verification and familiarity with BMDS Performance Tier 1 Metrics (PES, DA, LAD, RSC, etc)
• Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems (e.g., aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.)
• Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the Ballistic missile defense system (e.g., LRDR, AN/TPY-2, SBX, UEWR, Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control, C2BMC, THAAD, etc.)
• Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems
• Experience with data analytics and machine learning principles
• Demonstrated team leadership experience
