Our Space Strategy & Business Development (S&BD) organization is seeking an externally focused and forward-thinking leader with a strong understanding of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the local Huntsville, Alabama community. This leader will be responsible for building relationships and providing a liaison between LM Space and NASA, specifically related to Marshall Space Flight Center centric programs. This role will also assist as required with the Missile Defense Agency and Department of the Army initiatives.

In this dynamic role you will:

• Analyze the strategic direction of the enterprise as it relates to site-specific initiatives and ventures
• Make decisions on budget and shaping investments in alignment with all new products and capabilities
• Have the pulse of customers and think globally in solving customer challenges
• Be accountable for: customer and community engagements, relationships with external agencies in the area, and providing a liaison between organizations

Basic Qualifications:
• Proven leadership skills with a diverse team and a winning track record
• Proven track record and working knowledge of U.S. Government sales process, tech release, disclosure and acquisition/procurement policies and regulations.
• Deep understanding of the substantive issues and customer needs of U.S. Government Contracting
• In depth experiences and contacts within the US government
• Demonstrated ability to develop customer mapping and engagement strategies for various customer sets and product lines
• Strong experience acting as an executive champion to drive new initiatives across the enterprise
• Have the ability to travel 25-40%
US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Significant experience in government, defense, aerospace or related industry
• Knowledge of BD and a thorough familiarity with the National Aeronautics with emphasis on Marshall Space Flight Center
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organizational, and time management skills
• Strong leadership characteristics and sales presence
• Ability to motivate and energize teams
• Have the ability and desire to implement creative strategies
• Successful history of collaboration across diverse, complex organizations
