Lockheed Martin is looking for you to be the technical lead & manager for the Orion Launch Abort System (LAS) program.

Typically has 14 - 20 years of professional experience

Responsibilities include:

• Technical lead for integration of the LAS module within the overall Orion Multipurpose Crew Vehicle.
• Deputy to the LAS integrated product team (IPT) director including management and leadership of the LAS systems engineering, propulsion, wiring, and structures subsystem teams.
• Assist with management of both Major and minor subcontracts. In addition the applicant should be proficient in employee task identification, performance management, career and opportunity management, training needs, and act as the prime interface to the E&T MFO.
• Control Account Manager (CAM) for the LAS IPT.
• Technical coordination, collaboration, and oversight of the LAS subsystems and components comprising the LAS to assure technical adequacy of the LAS to meet requirements including performance, design and construction, mission and ground operations and to assure adequacy of design verification and end-to-end qualification.

Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams to include task planning, budget management, subcontract management and employee development and mentoring.
• Experience in spacecraft integration and subsystem design, test, production and assembly.
• Experience in technical and programmatic subcontract management.
• In depth exposure and knowledge of solid rocket motor propulsion design and analysis, structural design and analysis, systems engineering and verification fundamentals, and subsystem/component testing.
• Strong system integration, team building and communication skills.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Desired Skills:
Strong experience as product team lead with multi-functional disciplines, human rated space systems experience, Orion domain knowledge and CAM experience. Subcontract management experience is required.
