The Work
Lockheed Martin (LM) is seeking a dynamic, experienced Launch System Integration Manager to lead a team spanning multiple programs and business pursuits serving our commercial and international customers. This position enables you to lead teams working across numerous projects, engineering fields, industry partners and customer to develop and drive integrated solutions and compatible interfaces with a variety of launch providers to successfully deliver LM spacecraft to orbit.
As the Launch System Integration Manager, you will:
• Manage Launch System Integration (LSI) teams across multiple international, commercial and technology flight demonstration programs performing the full life-cycle set of critical activities required to integrate and launch LM spacecraft on a variety of new and established launch providers.
• Serve as the functional leader for a diverse team of LSI direct reports performing duties ranging from staff tasking, skills development, mentoring, performance assessments, and hiring to ensure all functional and personnel needs are met for the LSI directorate.
• Lead LSI engineers and subcontractors on multiple fast paced flight demonstration programs to include providing technical and programmatic direction ranging from early concept formulation to program execution and launch.
• Drive LSI related contract milestone achievement, cost and schedule performance, risk management, and technical excellence as a Launch IPT lead across multiple programs.
• Lead LSI-related major competitive proposal product formulation to include developing win strategies, technical baselines, discriminators, subcontractor selections, pricing/BOEs, task planning, authoring, color reviews and customer engagement
• Be responsible for building and sustaining direct technical and business relationships to new and existing domestic and international launch service providers to meet LM launch needs.
• Lead LSI teams throughout the spacecraft launch integration campaign responsible for product deliveries, interface hardware designs, interface verifications, flight readiness presentations and day of launch (DOL) activities.
The ideal candidate would have a strong technical team leadership background and knowledge in launch vehicle to spacecraft integration, new business capture, programmatic execution, and subcontract technical management.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
• Demonstrated LSI team leadership experience and LSI process knowledge gained from working with industry launch service providers
• Experience and knowledge of Systems Engineering methods and processes
• Active secret security clearance and the ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Prior experience managing technical teams with direct or matrixed reports with knowledge of Full Spectrum Leadership Principles
• Experience with LSI processes and execution during multiple program lifecycle phases to include competitive proposal, program start up, design, AI&T, launch site processing, launch phases
• Prior experience as a LSI Responsible System Engineer (RSE) and/or Certified Test Conductor (CTC) in a launch integration/launch processing program role.
• Recent experience leading activities focuses on growing organizational talent, mentoring junior engineers, and providing young professional career guidance
• Knowledgeable in staff planning tools (VEMO) and financial management control systems i.e., EVM related knowledge
• Excellent verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members, LM leadership, and outside vendors
• Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to shifting priorities and to effortlessly multitask
• Experience with high priority proposal preparation and subcontracting for launch services via Launch Service Agreements, Statement of Works, and cost estimating
• Prior LSI experience across multiple LM satellite platforms
• Prior experience with International customers and new business requiring launch services
• Experience in creating and delivering compelling presentations, and communicating to both direct functional and program leadership
• Demonstrated ability to establish close working relationships with key senior leaders and customer executives
• Master’s Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
