Cyber Systems Security Engineer

Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced engineer for engineering and IT cybersecurity. This position is for an Information Security professional working for Lockheed Martin Space Information Security Office supporting the LM Space Business Area. The primary focus of the position will be security engineering support for the Orion Program working with the Orion IT team. Work location at the Orion Highlands Ranch site is strongly preferred.
A sound network security engineering understanding of architectures and best practices to secure large scale, enterprise networks. Domain and practical experience in architecture, design, engineering of computer networks with security controls that meet best practice and minimize cyber security risks is required. The security engineer conducts threat analysis and modeling, defines security requirements, analyzes and tests the environment against the requirements, recommends remediation for identified risks, documents the security posture of the environment, including unmitigated risks
Position responsible for, but not limited to the following:
 All security engineers must be familiar with CPS/IPM/CRX policies, standards, practices and procedures, specifically those pertaining to security and the protection of the LM network.
 Provides IT Security guidance, direction, leadership, training to program personal and IT team.
 Performing as technical security consultant on architectures.
 Establishing effective working relationships with the other components across all Corporate, Business Area, Program, and IT Domains.
 Knowledge and awareness of risks and effective remediation
 May be required to perform leadership roles when required for meetings major maintenance/operational activities, projects and emerging technology reviews
Basic Qualifications:
 Broad understanding of IT/Physical security countermeasures and ability to tailor those countermeasures to risk/threat levels.
 Effective written and oral communication skills.
 Experience interacting with internal customers and project co-workers as well as senior leadership.
 Proficient at aligning security countermeasures with the business need.
 Ability to communicate complex concepts, ideas in a confident and well-organized manner.
 Excellent interpersonal skills and technical document preparation skills with a demonstrated ability to support complex organizational relationships
Desired Skills:
 Knowledge of LM security policies and Information Protection Manual (IPM).
 Current active DoD Secret Security Clearance preferred
 CISSP, CISM or other relevant security certification
 Working knowledge of LM scanning and vulnerability remediation, CyRIS and exception processes.
 CISSP, CISM or other relevant security certification
 Knowledge of NIST, SP 800 series and FIPS
 Knowledge of Lockheed Martin Information Protection Manual (IPMs)
 Knowledge of Cloud technologies, especially Amazon Web Services and with emphasis on transition of physical security architectures to cloud based, software defined network constructs.
 Knowledge of networks, especially enterprise grade 802.11 architectures.
