What does this role look like?



A critical component of the Lockheed Martin team is its contracting professionals, who each play a critical role in our programs’ success. They interface directly with a motivated team of contracts professionals, program leadership, functional personnel, and customers in fast-paced environments to make dreams a reality.

This position is for a junior-level transitioning to a mid-level contracts management professional. The position supports a wide range of contractual activities within the Mission Solutions (MSOL) line of business within Lockheed Martin Space. MSOL is a dynamic portfolio that develops, delivers, and operates mission critical solutions to government, commercial, and international customers. The successful candidate will interface directly with a motivated team of contracts professionals, program leadership, functional personnel, and customers in a fast-paced environment to address a wide range of contractual matters at all phases of the acquisition and program lifecycle.



This role will offer you the following daily challenges:



The successful candidate will be responsible for various contractual matters across a range of programs with daily responsibilities dependent on the needs of specific programs and stage of the acquisition/contract lifecycle. A typical day for this role will involve interfacing directly with contracts leadership and team members, as well as program and functional staff, to, among other things, review solicitations/requests for proposals, prepare proposals, negotiate contract changes, closeout activities and ensure programs are executed in compliance with the contract and Lockheed Martin policies. The successful candidate will also develop relationships with various customers and is expected to maintain these relationships to help produce positive business outcomes.
Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of professional experience or a Master’s degree and 4 years
• Prior contracts management experience
• Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts
• Demonstrated experience of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
• Familiarity with various agreement types, such as non-disclosure/proprietary information, teaming, government contracts and commercial agreements
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills:
To be successful, ideally, you should also have:

• Experience with Intellectual Property terms and licenses.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and achieve program goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills; able to quickly comprehend issues at hand
• demonstrated personal responsibility and sound judgement to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills to work within and across groups
• Able to manage significant work volume in a very dynamic business and compliance environment
• Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and be able to quickly understand facts and assumptions to decisively recommend a future course of action
• Able to communicate complex business and contracts issues in a clear and concise manner
• Be a proactive self-starter who is detailed and teamwork oriented.
• Multi-task in a fast-paced team environment and work well under pressure
• Experience working with virtual teams
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proven exceptional strategic communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, as well as program and executive management, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
