As a member of the Low Observable (LO) Labs & Ranges within Lockheed Martin Aeronautics located in Helendale, CA, the selected candidate will provide engineering support to our Antenna Calibration Lab and full-scale Radar Cross Section (RCS) test facility. The candidate’s primary tasks will be to participate in testing utilizing the antenna calibration system as well as day to day operations of the antenna and RCS measurement ranges. This includes test setup, system performance checks, RCS/antenna data collection and data processing.
This position leads the test crew at a state of the art outdoor Radar Cross Section (RCS) & Antenna (RF) measurement facility, located in the Mojave Desert of Southern California.
Coordinate subsystem and/or system antenna and RF testing requirements with programs and other organizations.
Create, evaluate and execute test procedures based on test requirements
Responsible for site measurement integrity through verification/validation and applying standards and best practices.
Lead test teams to prepare and execute comprehensive test procedures
Troubleshoot, repair & maintain RF & Radar measurement systems
Position requires working nightshift, weekends and extended hours when required
The facility supports multiple test programs. This position requires a Top Secret clearance. Employees must be able to obtain/maintain clearance and all special program accesses
Basic Qualifications:
BS Degree in Physics or Engineering
Experienced in test and evaluation processes to provide subject matter input, technical support, data analysis, test planning, and test execution and analysis
Knowledge of Physical Optics, Maxwell's Equations, Electromagnetic Theory, Wave Mechanics, multipath, radars, and clutter scattering.
Currently holds a Secret/TS clearance
Desired Skills:
Strong knowledge and ability with RCS data processing tools, such as Knowbell, SABER, or Pioneer
Experience with composite technologies as related to RCS/low observable Air Vehicle models
