Description:What You Will Be Doing

Our workforce of more than 30,000 has pre-eminent expertise in advanced aircraft design and production, modification and support, stealth technology and systems integration. This position will deploy to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a working military fighter Aircraft Paint Technician/Coater. Additional requirements and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Will perform military aircraft paint activities in a common goal of completing aircraft paint process safely, with high quality, while meeting Lockheed Martin standards and customer requirements.
- This occupation requires the preparation and application of prime and paint to the exterior and/or interior surfaces of parts, skins, assemblies, major assemblies, and major components.
- Performs such operations as applying interior and exterior paint, including preparation, sanding, glazing, marking, "shading", blending, and applying various low observable materials, including fastener and gap filler, boot installation, and overcoat with primers and finish topcoats. - Spray paints parts in booths or on conveyers, and in major and subassembly areas.
- May be required to perform hand spray of primers, paints, Teflon, low observable material, and rain erosion/anti-static materials to parts, assemblies, and components.
- Mixes paint to standard formula and thins paint to proper consistency.
- Uses blueprints, process standards, and other written information to determine color, locations and/or preparations and application procedures.
- Does final touch-up, modification, and rework, as necessary.
- Assists Low Observable Material Coater as required. Sets up and operates various types of paint spraying equipment.
- Does glazing to smooth airfoil surfaces of airplane by applying glazing compound with hand tools to cracks and irregular surfaces.
- Places and adjusts infra-red ray or heating lamps to dry finished glazed surfaces. Smoothes surfaces after drying by abrasives (hand or power equipment).
- May operate automatic paint conveyer.
- Does rework of the level of difficulty described herein as required.
- May be required to operate electronic data entry, storage, processing, and/or retrieval equipment as a routine part of accomplishing their normal job assignments.
- This position work with paints, primers, urethanes, lacquers, epoxy, enamels, varnishes, emerlons, corrosive protective coatings, thinners, dry film lubricants, rain erosion coatings, glazing compound, and sandpaper.
- Also works with equipment such as; Spray guns, air hoses, brushes, rollers, buffers, polishers, pressure pots, agitators, mixers, glazing knife, hot spray units, conveyers, electrostatic spray equipment and other hand or power equipment, blueprints and templates, rules and measuring tape.
-Operates necessary equipment to transport materials and equipment as required. May operate lifting and moving such equipment as portable air mover ventilators or exhaust units, safety lights, ladders, scaffolding, etc.
- Maintains and stores spray guns, pressure pots, hoses, respirators, and other similar safety devices, etc., related to job duties. Maintains “good housekeeping”.
- Must be a United States citizen. Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
• Six years of experience in brush, roller, and spray-painting functions.

• Knowledge of applying prime, low observable material and topcoat materials on detail parts, assemblies, and components, and use of all other equipment as required.

• Knowledge of low observable material, an understanding of coating removal, coating application processes, and its function in the overall aircraft performance.

• Experience with working on Ferrous and non-ferrous metals, composites, plastics and fabric.

• Experienced with paint equipment such as Spray guns, air hoses, trowels, brushes, rollers, buffers, templates, masking tools, manual and ultrasonic hole cutters, electric mixers, pneumatic sealing applications, vacuum equipment, scissors, knives, and hand trimming tools, rulers and measuring tape.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with working with Chemfilm, primers, topcoat paints, enamels, urethanes, Teflon, neoprenes, plastisols, thinners, solvents, cleaners, acids, conductive and non-conductive sealants, polyurethanes, thermoplastics, pre-coated conductive tapes, and epoxy adhesives.

• Knowledge of low observable material, an understanding of the application processes, and its function in the overall aircraft performance.

• Experience with translating engineering drawings, process specifications, process standards, engineering directives, and instructions for equipment set up and use.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
