Test Engineer/ Structural Test Engineer/ Grand Prairie (DFW), TX

Description:Lockheed Martin seeks an experienced Research Engineer for an exciting position located in Grand Prairie (DFW), TX.

Candidate will estimate, plan, design, and lead structural and mechanical testing on mechanical assemblies and components.

Develop 3D layout of test setup and detailed models/drawings for all test components using PTC CREO.

Perform all required structural analysis, identify and procure required materials.

Provide liaison support for shops during fabrication and with Test personnel during assembly and checkout.

Coordinate Instrumentation and data collection requests between Customer and lab personnel.

Manage test schedule and budget and communicate status with customers.
Basic Qualifications:
MUST be a U.S. Citizen and have an ACTIVE Department of Defense Secret Clearance.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline and 9+ years of professional experience or 13+ years professional experience in lieu of degree.

Experienced with 3D design preferably with PTC CREO.

Experience with mechanical drawing standards including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Ability to travel (~10% of time) to support off-site testing efforts.
Desired Skills:
Masters Degree with 7+ years of professional experience.

Familiarity with various lab instrumentation including accelerometer, thermocouple, pressure, and strain gage instrumentation.

Ability to setup and run structural test equipment and temperature/humidity chambers.

Strong communication skills.

Knowledge of manufacturing/shop processes.

Creative problem solver who is able to work in a fast paced, small team environment.

Experience in Structures Test Lab or mechanical testing.
