Description:In this role, you will deliver hands on support to drive effective execution for systems and software on behalf of the PAC 3 Air and Missile Defense Program. We are seeking an energetic candidate who will actively collaborate with integrated program teams, ensure adherence to governing procedures, and apply strong analytical abilities to drive continuous improvement.

What You Will Be Doing

The successful individual should be knowledgeable of development life cycle execution for systems and software, with experience influencing verification and validation best practices. This person is expected to lead initiatives with integrity and minimal supervision required.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
-Develop, modify, and apply rigorous quality standards for both internally‑developed and third‑party software systems, ensuring alignment with project goals, process mandates, and contractual requirements.
-Validate test equipment—including hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) rigs—by creating, specifying, and executing thorough inspection, verification, and validation test procedures.
-Define overall operating criteria that steer the software‑quality program and establish/maintain robust development and maintenance processes.
-Develop and carry out an audit strategy that guarantees adherence to all system and software procedures.
-Continuously monitor and assess the software‑quality system to spot gaps, apply corrective actions, and confirm that reliability metrics satisfy defined standards.
-Perform comprehensive software product reviews that cover:
Requirement specifications
Design documentation
Source code
Test plans and procedures
Tools, techniques, and methodologies
-Ensure accurate requirement allocation, traceability, and testability throughout the product lifecycle.
-Proactively devise innovative, cross‑disciplinary solutions to complex quality challenges with minimal day‑to‑day supervision.
-Lead major projects from concept through delivery, making lasting technical decisions that shape the organization’s posture.
-Maintain regular engagement with senior leadership on strategic quality issues.
-Introduce new concepts and best‑practice frameworks, leveraging extensive knowledge of industry standards and corporate practices to drive continuous improvement and keep the organization at the cutting edge of software quality.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Travel may be required.

- Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance.

- A bachelors degree in engineering, computer science or in a STEM related discipline, or a combination of experience and education will be considered.

- Familiarity with agile systems and software development methodologies

- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle models.

- Must have Software Quality, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering experience in Requirements Analysis, Design/Development, Product Integration and Test.

- Ability to interpret software design and code.

- Participation in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) throughout the software lifecycle
Desired Skills:
- A bachelors degree in engineering, computer science or in a STEM related discipline

- Background in Configuration/Change Management

- Background as a CAM managing project performance in an earned value management system, and experience developing BOE's (basis of estimate)

- Experience developing effective software quality metrics that reflect project health (defect density, test coverage, etc.)

- Experience managing software supplier relationships

- Experience serving as the primary liaison for a customer effort for a related discipline of engineering, development, programs or quality assurance

- Ability to conduct root cause and corrective action analysis investigations (RCCA, 8D, Fishbone)

- Experience working as a quality representative or member of a development organization with a background in CMMI, AS9100, DO-178 B/C, and DO-254

- Microsoft Office Proficiency – Advanced use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools.

- Independent Work Capability – Thrive in high complexity environments with shifting priorities and dynamic schedules.

- Team Collaboration – Strong organizational and communication abilities; adept at working within cross functional teams.

- Metrics Development & Analysis – Create, interpret, and act on data driven metrics to highlight concerns and promote best practices.

- Issue Communication & Problem Solving – Effectively engage diverse audiences to surface issues, facilitate discussions, and generate solutions.

- Agile/Lean Development Experience – Support software development teams operating under various Agile frameworks.

- Quality Systems Knowledge – Thorough understanding of internal quality processes and external quality standards.

- Toolset Expertise – Hands on experience with software development and planning tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Code Collaborator.

- Process & Product Evaluation – Conduct assessments to verify compliance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement opportunities.

- Ability to write code in C, C++, or Java

- Lean / Six Sigma [Green/Black] Belt

- ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE)

- Knowledge of AS9100 requirements

- Knowledge of AS9115 requirements

- Cybersecurity Fundamentals – Knowledge of network security, threat landscapes, cryptography, and access control concepts.

- Exceptional written and oral communication skill

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
