Description:Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie, TX is looking for an experienced EO/IR System Designer for the development, fabrication, assembly, integration, and test of a seeker Imaging Infrared (IIR) and Laser Rangefinder (LRF) system. Emphasis of the role will be on LRF development while providing design and test support of the IIR as needed.

Responsibilities include: Trade and refine the LRF optical system design architecture and models, support the IIR optical system design for the LRF, complete trade studies on laser and detector components, and select LRF operating wavelength. Optimize the prescriptions of all optical components and baseline the optical performance, perform optical tolerance analysis, trade athermalization architecture for flight test seekers and incorporate into prescription. Perform stray light analysis and design baffles and stops if required, support LRF opto-mechanical design, drawings, and fabrication; support electronics packaging development. Work with CCA board designers to define LRF electrical interfaces and generate design documentation, support updates to range performance analysis, prepare for, conduct, and document design assurance reviews, prepare for and support Biweekly teleconferences, program Kickoff meeting, Quarterly reviews, Annual Technical Reviews and S&T CDR. Support subcontract management during procurement of LRF components, support LRF assembly and integration into the gimbal, conduct lab tests, collect and analyze the data to verify performance. Perform and document LRF design verification testing including laboratory, environmental and tower testing, target track test, missile track test, and seeker environmental testing. Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Secret clearance with current 5Yr background check
- Experience with EO/IR system development and testing
- Test range Knowledge of optical system design tools, such and Zemax and/or Code-V, is required.
- Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary environment
- Clear, confident, concise, coherent oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Desired Skills:
- Prior experience working with seeker technology
- Familiar with typical business practices
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint skills
- Experience with creating presentation charts and general status reports, and delivering presentations to customers
- Experience with proposal creation
