Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an ambitious and experienced Senior Structural Dynamics Analyst to join our creative team of engineers. The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control’s highly innovative and ingenious solutions to complex technical problems facing the aerospace industry.

This exciting work will include performing research, design, analysis, evaluation, and testing in support of various program areas.

This specific position is related to Mechanical / Structural Dynamics analysis for development and production of new aerospace products and technologies.

The selected candidate will be responsible for performing dynamics analysis support in development of missile configurations and canisters, generation of finite element models (FEM) and performing structural dynamic analyses, generation of classical structural dynamics analysis, and evaluation of design for issues or possible alternate design approaches. Additional experience performing tasks such as missile tip-off analysis, modal analysis, Flutter, flexible flight loads, and test plan development/test support. Tasks also include performing preliminary and detailed structural and dynamic analysis on component and assemblies using standardized processes and tools. Tasks may also include providing support for structural or dynamic testing of systems, subsystems, and components.

Candidate will perform structural and dynamic analysis using standardized analysis software tools and coordinate requirements and design solutions with program personnel. Experienced with relevant analytic tools for structural and dynamics analysis.

Additional responsibilities include support testing, design, implementation, evaluation and correlation with simulations.

The candidate will provide technical documentation and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to program and customer personnel at technical interchange meetings, and design reviews.

The candidate will also be interfacing and coordinating efforts with Structural Stress Engineers, Mechanical Designers, Thermal Engineers, Material & Process Engineers, Environments Engineers, Laboratory Test Engineers, Production Operations, Subcontractor Management and other departments.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related field with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience (aerospace industry preferred); or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.

Experience with performing Dynamic analysis and testing of structural assembly systems, sub-assemblies, or components made from a multitude of structural materials used in the aerospace industry, especially metals and composites.

Candidate MUST have the flexibility to travel as needed.
Desired Skills:
Possess an Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance PLUS have had an investigation (or re-investigation) within 6 years.

Experience performing tasks such as missile tip-off analysis, modal analysis, Flutter, flexible flight loads, and test plan development/test support.

Experience with core structural software (Nastran and/or Abaqus).

Experience with core or second tier pre and post processing tools (Ansa, Meta, Hypermesh, Patran, FEMAP, etc.).

Experience with CAD modeling software (PTC CREO for example).

Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Experience in Dynamics analysis, Flutter, Loads Analysis,
Aero-elasticity, Dynamics testing, Dynamics Analysis of Aerospace Structures.

MS or Ph.D. degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, with at least 3 years of related structures or dynamics experience in the aerospace industry.

Experience with dynamic analysis of assembly systems, subsystems, or components.

Considered experienced, but still a learner. Candidate must have strong analytical and organizational skills.

Experience calculating and reviewing Aeroelastic Loads and supporting Flutter Flight Testing.

Exposure or Experience desirable with rigid body dynamics tools (ADAMS).

Experience performing structural and dynamics analysis using classical methods.

Experience with FORTRAN programming.

Experience with Matlab and MathCAD.

Experience with NASGRO, and MMPDS.

Proven leadership with demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Can Demonstrate Creativity/innovation to solve issues related to structural and dynamic performance of any aspect of structure.

Experience developing and analyzing structures for strength and stability.

Experience writing structural and component specifications, and system/subsystem/component test plans.

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating structural analysis plans, structural analysis reports, documentation and potentially proposals are necessary.

Candidate must be capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and working in an inclusive, team environment.
