Description: -Lockheed Martin is seeking a Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion/Energetics Engineer to join our creative team of engineers in Dallas Texas.
-The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control’s highly innovative and ingenious solutions to complex technical problems facing the aerospace industry.
-This exciting work will include performing research, design, analysis, evaluation, and testing in support of various program areas.
-This specific position is related to solid propellants and energetics for development and production of new aerospace products and technologies.

-The candidate will be responsible for Solid Rocket Motor / Solid Propellant and Energetics technical solutions of propulsion systems to include its various subsystems and components leading up to the integration of the propulsion systems into Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control rocket and/or missile systems.
-Tasks will include analysis related to the design, development, and production of the solid rocket motor assembly.
-This includes the development of specifications, system integration with flight vehicles, support of testing, and development of related technologies.

-The candidate will work with energetics suppliers including Solid Rocket Motor (SRM), Transfer Lead Assembly (TLA) and Thrust Termination Charge (TTC), Detonator, Safe Arm Fuse, Lethality Enhancer (LE), and Attitude Control Motor (ACM) suppliers, as required to satisfy program requirements.
-The candidate will also be involved in development and release of engineering drawings and documents as well as test plans for Storage and Aging hardware.
-The candidate will be learning about current hardware as well as previously designed hardware.
-Associated efforts include supporting telecoms, review of design package information, test plans and test results, supporting technical interchange meetings and design reviews, hardware fabrication and testing.
-The candidate will also be involved with interface development, coordination with Structural engineers, Thermal engineers, Material & Process engineers, Environments engineers, Production Operations, Subcontractor Management and other departments.

-The candidate will also function as the technical point of contact with other Lockheed Martin Dallas and Camden organizations as well as Lockheed Martin customers.
-This includes supporting rocket/missile level integrated product team meetings and preparation of and briefing of propulsion system status to program management and customers.

The Locale:
-Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas.
-Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth.
-The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate.
-The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth.
-These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
Desired Skills: -Active Secret security clearance and the investigation performed within the past 5 years.
-MS degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or related field with at least 3 years of propulsion/energetic system experience in the aerospace industry.
-Exposure with various Government design requirements such as with MIL-STD-1901 (Ignition System Safety) and MIL-STD-2105 (Insensitive Munitions).
-Exposure with design, development, test and production of composite cases.
-Experience with design requirements for initiators and associated Government design specifications such as MIL-DTL-23659.
-Exposure to Flight Termination System requirements and associated Government Range Safety standards such as RCC 319.
-Leadership with demonstrated interpersonal skills.
-Experience supporting failure investigations.
-Creativity/innovation to solve issues associated with material obsolescence studies.
Basic Qualifications: -Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.

-Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.

-Minimum of 3 years professional experience with a Masters Degree or at least 5 years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree.

-At least 3 years of professional experience focused on solid rocket motor propulsion / energetic systems in the aerospace industry.

-Exposure with the various aspects associated with propulsion system development and production to include associated subsystems, components, and manufacturing techniques.
-Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and working in an inclusive, team environment.
-Considered experienced, but still a learner.
-Candidate must have highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
-The candidate must also have demonstrated creativity/innovation to solve issues.
-Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
-Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating various specifications, statement of requirements, test plans, test reports and presentations.
-Candidate must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
-Candidate must have the ability to travel.
