Quality Assurance Engineer (QE) - Grand Prairie, TX

Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer for a position based in the Dallas. TX area. The position requires electrical or quality engineering experience developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products. Experience with (Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control (APQP), Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) is highly desired. Responsibilities include:

Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.

Supports Integrated Product Teams and various production sites with reviews of quality data on yields, rework, scrap and non-conformance aging.

Analyzes and resolves process issues varying from basic to very complex.

Attends and leads program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution and insures responsible parties meet commitments.

Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.

Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100.

Evaluates the design assurance activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality.

Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues.

Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.

Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Engineering or Quality experience developing methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products

Able to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and able to translate into work instruction.

Ability to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Sub-contracts (Buyers) and Government Representatives

Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements

Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex.

Experience in disposition of non-conforming products

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Ability to travel
Desired Skills:
Experience with (Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control (APQP), Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment

A strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), engineering requirements as well as mechanical and electrical inspection methods

Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration

Experience with source inspection, surveillance activities and special process at suppliers

Advanced AS9100, AS9102 and TS 16949 Interpretation and application experience

Experienced as a team lead and facilitator

Familiar with requirements for handling and control of Government Furnished Equipment / Property
