Description:
You will be the SMT Technical Lead – Launch Tube Assembly (LTA) for the Supplier Management Team (SMT) supporting the Next Generation Strike Ready Integration (NGSRI) program. Our team oversees the full lifecycle of the Launch Tube Assembly system—including the composite launch tube, forward & aft covers, umbilical connections, missile restraint mechanisms, launch motor/booster igniter, and the interface to the Command Launch Assembly (CLA) and its variants.
What You Will Be Doing
As the SMT Technical Lead you will be responsible for driving technical excellence across supplier and program interfaces for the LTA. You’ll partner closely with the AUR and CLA Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), support the Launch Motor Engineering SMT Lead when called upon, and shepherd the LTA from development through qualification testing into full rate production.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Lead the technical relationship with the LTA supplier, ensuring requirements, schedules, and quality standards are met.
• Define, review, and approve engineering data packages, drawings, and specifications for all LTA components.
• Coordinate and execute development and qualification test campaigns, capturing results, tracking open issues, and driving corrective actions.
• Serve as the primary technical conduit between the LTA supplier and the AUR/CLA IPTs, translating program needs into supplier deliverables.
• Support the Launch Motor Engineering SMT Technical Lead on cross functional tasks, providing LTA expertise as needed.
• Manage risk registers, conduct root cause analyses, and recommend mitigation strategies throughout the product’s lifecycle.
• Oversee production readiness reviews, ensuring the LTA is manufacturable, maintainable, and field serviceable.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical champion for best practices in supplier management and systems integration.
• Maintain compliance with Lockheed Martin engineering standards, safety regulations, and export control requirements.

This position is in Grand Prairie, TX.
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelors or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related relevant field.
-Minimum of 7 years hands on mechanical design / analysis experiences and 3-5 years leading supplier facing projects
-Proven track record of delivering hardware on time and working through technical challenges with suppliers in the Aerospace or Defense industries.
-Proficient in CAD (CREO, CATIA, NX or Solidworks) and Windchill / PLM applications
-Proficient in GD&T and Drawing Standards
-Experience with hardware nonconformance Material Review Board dispositioning
-Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
-Experience with Composites and solving challenging weight requirements desirable
-Experience Leading teams with strong communication skills, and presentation skills to Senior Leadership and Customer stakeholders
-Cross Functional collaboration skills working closely with program management, quality, supply chain and other engineering functions
-Strong Manufacturing and transition to production experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
