You will be the Manufacturing Engineer Staff for the Precision Fires Program Manufacturing Engineering team. Our team is responsible for delivering high‑performance manufacturing solutions that enable the M270 Program to meet stringent schedule and quality goals.



What You Will Be Doing


As the Manufacturing Engineer Staff you will be responsible for driving production readiness and supplier collaboration across the entire value chain.


Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Lead Production Line Validations (PLVs) at Lockheed Martin and supplier sites.

  • Perform Make‑or‑Buy analyses and trade studies to support cost‑effective solutions.

  • Submit design Change Requests (CRs) and review Engineering Change Notices (CNs).

  • Support tooling development and affordability/process‑improvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate technical interchange meetings and present findings to senior leadership and customers.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or engineering-related field
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
• Professional experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with computer aided design (CAD) modeling
• Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specs, and other systems integration data
• Proven leadership experience
• Effective communication skills (verbal, listening, technical writing, presentations) combined with the ability to translate technical information for non technical audiences.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Liaison capability between LM subcontractors, internal teams, and Production Operations
• Ability to analyze and resolve technical or process issues of varying complexity
• Strong project and time management skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Desired Skills:
• Shop floor experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFMA) or Design to Cost
• Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Knowledge of SAP MRP production control system
• Experience working with government customers
• Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
• Experience with proposals and estimating
• Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
