You will be the Industrial Engineering Senior Manager for the Industrial Engineering team. Our team is responsible for leading and transforming our Industrial Engineering function across multiple production facilities in the United States.


What You Will Be Doing


As the Industrial Engineering Senior Manager, you will be the functional leader for Industrial Engineering across a network of 9 advanced manufacturing sites (with no direct reports at those sites, but significant influence and leadership responsibility). You will be responsible for crafting the vision and strategy for world-class manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement, and inspiring a culture of excellence and innovation in Industrial Engineering. You will define the IE vision and develop a multi-year strategic roadmap, guiding how our business executes and evolves its Industrial Engineering practices.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Leading the transformation of the Industrial Engineering function across 9 production facilities.

  • Developing and implementing a multi-year strategic roadmap for Industrial Engineering.

  • Driving continuous improvement and inspiring a culture of excellence and innovation.

  • Collaborating on-site with various plant teams to ensure consistent application of best practices.

  • Mentoring teams in Lean best practices.

  • You’ll travel approximately 40% of the time to collaborate on-site with various plant teams, ensuring consistent application of best practices and fostering cross-site synergy.

This position is located in either Grand Prairie, TX, or Orlando, FL.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.


Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field

-8 years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing, or operations roles – with a significant portion in advanced industries such as, automotive, or semiconductor manufacturing. This experience should include driving large-scale improvement projects or programs. Prior experience leading initiatives across multiple sites or a broad enterprise is highly desirable.

- Lean Six Sigma Expertise: Deep knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is required.

- Industrial Engineering Skill Set: Strong proficiency in core IE tools and techniques – including time/motion studies, work measurement, labor utilization analysis, capacity modeling, line balancing, and ergonomic optimization. Experience in facility layout design and optimization for efficient workflows is expected.

- You should be comfortable with manufacturing analytics and simulation tools (e.g. discrete-event simulation, digital twin modeling) to analyze and improve production systems.

- Demonstrated understanding of advanced manufacturing technologies and the vision to apply them for operational advantage. -You embrace technology as a key enabler for process improvement.

Leadership & Influence: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

-Experience collaborating across functions and business units to achieve common goals is crucial.

-Experience working in a manufacturing environment

-Ability to clearly communicate vision, change plans, and results – tailoring your message to different audiences is essential.

-Experience with strategic planning or developing long-term roadmaps for improvement.

- Self-driven change agent, not afraid to challenge the status quo and drive organizational transformation.

-A proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and change initiatives (especially across multiple sites) will set you apart.

-Strong project management skills, financial acumen (to quantify benefits and ROI).
Desired Skills:
-Ideal candidate would work at our Grand Prairie, TX Facility

-At least 3 years of experience leading and managing teams

-Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field

-Adept at leading through influence, able to motivate and guide diverse teams and stakeholders without direct reporting authority
-Credible coach and mentor, capable of earning trust from shop-floor technicians to senior executives.

-Strategic Thinker & Change Agent: Big-picture mindset with the ability to also dive into details when needed.

-Hands-on experience implementing Lean tools and using Six Sigma or statistical analysis to solve problems. A formal Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt or Master Black Belt) is strongly preferred, as it demonstrates your mastery in driving continuous improvement.

-Experience driving digital transformation initiatives in a production environment – such as implementing smart factory solutions, or advanced automation
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
