Job Responsibilities

Job ID: 718326BR Date posted: Feb. 17, 2026
Description:

You will be the Electrical Engineer: Thermal Battery Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the PAC 3 program on the Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team designs, develops, and sustains the advanced thermal battery technology that powers precision engagement missiles for the U.S. Army and allied forces. We partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain groups to ensure every battery meets stringent performance, safety, and schedule requirements.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Electrical Engineer: Thermal Battery SME you will lead the technical direction of thermal battery design, development, testing, and field support. You’ll act as the chief technical bridge between internal stakeholders, government customers, and external suppliers, driving solutions that keep the PAC 3 missile ready for global deployment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide expert guidance on thermal battery architecture, materials, and test methodologies throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead cross functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to integrate battery solutions into the missile system.
• Conduct root cause failure analyses, develop corrective action plans, and track implementation to improve reliability.
• Review, comment on, and approve engineering change requests, technical reports, and test procedures to ensure compliance with program standards.
• Evaluate supplier proposals—assessing cost, schedule, and technical merit—and make recommendations that balance risk and performance.
• Assess non conformances, lead Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, and drive corrective actions.
• Work directly with suppliers to qualify new thermal battery designs, providing technical oversight and mentorship.
• Communicate regularly with government customers to capture requirements, provide status updates, and deliver technical guidance.
• Coordinate supplier activities in partnership with Sub Contracts Management to align with overall program milestones.
• Support obsolescence planning, identifying replacement parts and mitigation strategies before they impact production.
• Provide technical oversight of a major subcontractor, ensuring deliverables meet quality and schedule commitments.
• Travel as needed to customer and supplier sites, both within the Continental United States (CONUS) and internationally, to validate designs and oversee critical reviews.
