This position will serve as the primary engineering point of contact and subject matter expert supporting the PAC-3 Field Service Representative organization and proposed Tactical Operations Support Center. The candidate will also lead field failure investigations and repair activity which requires travel to offsite locations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and will be responsible for the analysis of system hardware and software configurations. The candidate will work with cross functional teams to develop backwards compatibility functionality of subassemblies used in a complex system. The candidate will be required to develop test plans and reports. The position will entail design validation and testing of both hardware and software systems, resulting in new configurations that are released through a formal Engineering release process.

The candidate will work with other team members to develop an Obsolescence mitigation strategy defining hardware and software configurations that are compatible ensuring product maintainability.

Effective communication and teaming skills are required. The candidate will be required to communicate with various Engineering and non-technical disciplines locally and across multi-site locations to discuss Sustainment strategies for obsolete hardware.

The candidate will interface with customers and suppliers. Some domestic travel will be required.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited college
- Secret Security Clearance
- Experience interpreting drawings, schematics, interface specifications, and system level requirements is required.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshooting and isolating electrical failures in a field and laboratory environment is required.
- Excellent communication, organization and teaming skills are required.
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
- Support internal meetings, prepare presentations, and support external meetings with Customers.
- Knowledge of RS422 serial, MIL-STD-1553, and VMEbus electrical interfaces is desirable.
