Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) Advanced Programs (AP) is seeking a Cyber Architect Principal responsible for leading cyber security projects. Candidates should be experienced in research, development, and transition of advanced technology development programs within the Department of Defense (DoD) for embedded cyber (i.e. securing systems/software), hardware (i.e. trust/assured microelectronics), or product security (i.e. red teaming, penetration testing, and program assessments of DoD weapon systems). The ideal candidate is an established cyber security expert with an entrepreneurial streak who has experience working Government Contract Research & Development (CRAD) programs.
Roles and responsibilities include performing on advanced programs, leading technology development teams, developing security solutions/technologies, and supporting customer needs. A successful candidate will work effectively throughout the Lockheed Martin organization, both vertically and horizontally, to build strong working team relationships in the advancement of cyber resilient systems. You will demonstrate a strong ability to work across organizational boundaries and jurisdictions and lead technical teams in the development of advanced security solutions.

Basic Qualifications:
• Degree in cyber security, software/systems engineering, or computer science.
• A demonstrated engineering leader of Government S&T programs, Principal Investigator, or related technical leadership role for embedded cyber security R&D. A subject matter expert having demonstrated cyber technical skills on Government programs that develop systems, software, and security platforms. A deep understanding of systems/software engineering, cybersecurity, and hardware assurance.
• Demonstrated Government R&D experience for technologies/research areas such as: cyber resilient systems, software assurance, weapon system cyber vulnerability assessments, and other technologies that improve Government security, performance, and reduce system size, weight, power, or cost.
• Experienced in cyber architecture, engineering, or Principal Investigator (PI) on fast-paced, complex research, and advanced technology development programs. A successful track record to identify and implement advanced technologies funded by Government Contract Research and Development (CRAD) and Internal Research And Development (IRAD).
• Current knowledge of the Government S&T (Science & Technologies) environment and acquisition process. Ability to understand and match strategic DoD needs with novel, highly technical, and emerging technologies. Experienced in leading cyber security technical teams and developing advanced concepts opportunities from early concept/trend, through proposal submittal, and technical baseline management of new start programs.
• Team player – Effective at organizing and motivating a diverse set of cyber engineers to act as “one” in the pursuit of common objectives. Builds effective customer, team, and partner relationships. Demonstrated ability to negotiate to a positive outcome with multiple stakeholders that may have different technical/engineering needs and/or constraints.
• An independent worker with a successful track record of delivering high-quality contract deliverables that met or exceeded customer expectations.
• Experience with aerospace/defense products and services such as sensors, platforms, computing solutions and combat, missile, rocket, manned and unmanned systems. Embedded software/hardware expertise and experience for DoD platforms.
• An active Secret clearance; ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Technical lead on R&D programs with Government S&T customers. Examples may include: Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Office of Naval Research (ONR), U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC), U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Intelligence Community (IC), Office of Secretary of Defense Research & Engineering (OSD R&E), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and Classified customers.
• Strong verbal and written skills to clearly articulate complex technology development and research strategies to both internal and external audiences.
• Experienced in DoD technology development lifecycles; ideally from early concept identification, thru development/prototyping, and then the integration into customer product lines and core businesses.
•Successfully worked across organizations to effectively solve national security issues to include emerging cyber, microelectronics, and DoD/IC market and technology trends. A proven record of helping to win first phase DoD R&D programs and their follow-on phases through the successful delivery of high-quality technical work products and advanced technology demonstrations.
• Applicant’s research has resulted in contracts awarded by Government customers and is recognized as a cyber security subject matter expert. An expert who is experienced in security technology development (systems/software/microelectronics/supply chain) and implementation for Government customers and DoD platforms/weapon systems.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
