This Contract Negotiator Staff position supports the THAAD Program under the Air and Missile Defense business area. The desired candidate will provide contract administration support by reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating contract requirements, contract change impacts, extending and administering IWTAs and requests for proposal / ROMs. The individual will be adept in understanding contract terms, articulating those positions to the business and ensuring the program teams are able to effectively understand the impacts of the agreements reached with the Customer.

Overall responsibilities include:

Ensure contract responsibilities are compliant with Lockheed Martin corporate and local policies and procedures. Candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.

Play a key role in shaping the future of Lockheed Martin by implementing business strategies for capturing new and following business. Must maintain high standard and ethics.

Manage, participate in and/or conduct proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to work with stakeholders across multiple Business Units. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independent of functional management while managing the successful completion of program requirements.

Advise leadership and Program management of contractual rights, obligations and risks; compile and analyzes data; and maintain historical contract information.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree

Working knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and other government acquisition regulations

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)

Working knowledge of administering and negotiating a variety of fixed price type (FFP, FPIF) and cost type (CPFF, CPIF) contracts

Occasional Travel is required
Desired Skills:
10 or more years of related experience; or 8 or more years with a Master's degree

Experience in all aspects of the contract life cycle including contract administration, proposal preparation and close-out

Missile Defense Agency and/or THAAD experience

Able to manage and administer multiple task orders and delivery orders in a fast paced environment

Able to develop solutions to a variety of moderate and complex problems which may require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation

Prior experience working in an IDIQ contract environment

Familiarity with the IWTA system and related policies and procedures

Experience working with Virtual teams
