Description:The Communications Director, Functional Excellence (and Deputy to the MFC Communications VP), will lead the functional communications team, with strategic oversight and responsibility for MFC Media Relations, Trade Shows, Community Relations, Advertising, Digital and Social, and Employee and Executive Communications. The Communications Director will provide strategic guidance and leadership to develop MFC Communications functional Centers of Excellence. This person will partner with the Communications VP and MFC Communications Leadership Team to ensure there are synergies and collaboration in supporting the business, and will drive innovation, collaboration and camaraderie across the entire organization. This director will also serve on the Corporate Marketing Council.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with proven experience developing a team and coaching to help others achieve their potential.
• Manage and mentor team, ensuring they are aligned to the company and corporate strategy; developing strategic thinkers/trusted advisors and growing their leadership teams in a consistent manner.
• Candidate must be strategic, collaborative, detail oriented, and have strong teamwork philosophy.
• Establish a vision and strategy for the team that aligns with the overarching Communications, MFC and LOB strategy.
• Collaborate with peers on team’s engagement and support of enterprise priorities.
• Develop, support and implement proactive, strategic and integrated communications.
• Provide counsel to leaders and executives and support critical internal and external engagement activities.
• Develop talent of the team.
• Identify opportunities for the team to digitally transform.
• Collaborate with Digital Communications team to provide input to strategic roadmap and technology exploration and investment to ensure we are able to support the emerging needs of our key stakeholders.
• Use metrics, data and feedback to continuously improve and adjust.
• Provide prudent fiscal planning and oversight, meeting budgetary requirements, including contractors, training, travel, employee engagement, etc.
• Serves on the Corporate Marketing Council.

Ability to develop, support and implement proactive, strategic and integrated communications.
Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
Demonstrated ability developing executive communications.
Experience in social media platforms, campaigns, and measuring results.
