Description:This position is located at The Forge, a customer facility in College Park MD.

The successful candidate will assume a DevSecOps Manager (DxM) position, reporting directly to the Director of the Mission Systems Software Engineering Center of Excellence. This position is in support of Aegis combat system development and deployment, the successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of a cross-discipline engineering team
The DxM will embrace DevSecOps culture and drive feedback and coordination across the development (Dev) and operations (Ops) portfolio of Aegis, while emphasizing both physical and cybersecurity (Sec) in accordance with the Government customer-provided requirements. Scope of responsibility spans across the DevSecOps lifecycle of activities, including Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment and Continuous Security.

In addition to oversight of the core engineering teams, the DxM will communicate with the Government customer on all DevSecOps matters pertaining to Aegis combat system development. The DxM shall facilitate DevSecOps culture, practices and procedures across the large number of organizations contributing to the core Aegis Weapon System (AWS) & broader Aegis Combat System (ACS) development and operations lifecycle, including the Government and other entities participating in development at The Forge.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with integrating complex software projects into an enterprise solution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading advanced technical teams, especially experience with effectively managing distributed teams.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership with the ability to build effective and trusting relationships with customers, management, teammates and peers.
- Demonstrated experience effectively communicating (verbal, written and presentation) with all employee levels, senior management, internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Broad knowledge of current software development trends in Agile Software Development and applications to DevSecOps within the Department of Defense based projects.
- Minimum 5 years of direct tangible experience with managing software and systems engineering efforts using Agile methods, processes and practices.
- Knowledge of system and software engineering processes throughout the Systems Engineering Lifecycle Development process, starting from high level system requirements, through allocation to system elements, through development software components, through large scale Integration & Test and finally to deployment.
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering.
- Familiarity with cloud-based development and technologies (Virtualization, Containers, Infrastructure as Code).
- Must have ability to see big-picture goals while maintaining a strong attention to details.
- Must have the ability to make effective, timely decisions
- Must have strong and innovative problem-solving skills. Must be able to assist in problem solving exploration in many disciplines/domains.
- Must show a strong desire and ability to understand a broad range of engineering activities.
- Must be a proven self-starter with demonstrated capability to proactively work through difficult technical and project challenges.
- Ability to obtain Final Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
- Agile certification
- Knowledge of Aegis and Ballistic Missile Defense programs, including the Common Source Library (CSL)
- Experience with Aegis software deliveries
- Adept understanding of cloud-computing; virtualization technologies, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS delivery models
- Direct experience with upgrades, migrations, and integration of developmental and tactical platform environments and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Platform One, the Department of Defense’s enterprise-wide solution
