Description:The Manager of Web Design provides strategic direction and leadership for the tri-site web teams, to ensure their efforts align to corporate strategies and Aeronautics key business objectives.

Must have proven experience in the digital media disciplines, specifically web development and have demonstrated leadership abilities.

Support the Visual Communications strategy and vision that aligns with the overarching Visual and Marketing Communications operational strategy.

Collaborate with the Corporate Visual Communications team to support projects that align to enterprise strategic priorities.

Provide input to strategic roadmap and technology exploration and investment to ensure we are able to support the emerging needs of our key stakeholders.

Collaborate with Marketing Communications to provide consistent, strategic brand presence that supports key business objectives.

Collaborate with other Communications departments to ensure full understanding of strategic priorities and challenges to ensure we are providing best-in-class creative solutions.

Manage and mentor Visual Communications Associate Managers and Leads, ensuring they are aligned to the company and corporate strategy; developing strategic thinkers/trusted advisors and growing their leadership in a consistent manner.

Lead the virtual web team, engaging with employees at Fort Worth, TX, Marietta, GA and Palmdale, CA, providing resources for innovation and guidance in the creation and execution of web deliverables that meet business needs and support digital transformation.

Enforce standards for quality, consistency, effectiveness and brand support as part of the AC-1560 process.

Drive integration and collaboration across the enterprise.

Provide prudent fiscal planning and oversight, meeting all web budgetary requirements, including DCI, training, travel, hardware/software, employee engagement, etc.

Assess and report web metrics and evaluate emerging trends and best practices.

Manage administrative duties: coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training; performance assessments; work assignments and salary and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Assess headcount to ensure staffing is maintained at the appropriate levels.

Candidate must be strategic, collaborative, detail oriented, and have strong teamwork philosophy.

Demonstrated leadership skills with proven experience developing a team and coaching to help others achieve their potential.

MUST BE A US CITIZEN - This position is located in a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with digital communications disciplines, specifically web design (UI/UX, front end, back end).

Experience leading virtual employees.

Experience in additional Visual Communications disciplines, i.e. 3D/interactive, animation, special effects, graphic design, mobile, augmented Reality, and/or virtual reality development.
Desired Skills:

Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment with multiple deadlines

Familiarity with advanced tools for web design and development

Strategic, critical thinking, collaborative and detail oriented

Knowledge of the defense/aerospace business sector

Familiarity with current software languages/frameworks for web development, such as .NET (C# or Visual Basic), JavaScript/jQuery, MVC, ColdFusion, Progressive Web Applications, etc.
