The Simulation and System Labs (SSL) F 35 Simulation Development team is seeking an energetic, forward thinking leader to drive innovation across the full software development and systems engineering life cycle. In this role you will inspire and guide a high performing team that designs, validates, integrates, and deploys cutting edge simulation software and hardware for mission systems development, pilot training, and live tactical events.



What You Will Be Doing


As the Systems Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading the Simulation and System Labs (SSL) F‑35 Simulation Development team across the full software systems engineering life‑cycle, from requirements through integration and deployment.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Coordinate recruitment, training, performance assessments, and career development for subordinate engineers.

  • Manage schedule, cost, technical risks, requirements, system design, integration, verification and validation of laboratory products.

  • Oversee standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life‑cycle to support simulation and hardware systems.

  • Interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.

  • Perform functional and timeline analyses, trade studies, and requirements allocation to translate customer needs into laboratory specifications.

Your experience with F‑35 or advanced development programs positions you to make immediate impact and shape future simulation capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with the full systems engineering lifecycle from requirements through verification/validation with 2 or more of the following:
• Requirements decomposition
• System Architecture
• System Design
• Requirements Verification
• Hardware/Software Integration
• Software Deployment

• Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline (Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering preferred)
Desired Skills:
• Advanced degree preferred
• Experience operating in both waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
• Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors (deliver results, shape the future, build effective relationships, energize the team, model personal excellence, integrity and accountability)
• Management experience in engineering field (SE/SW/HW)
• Earned Value Management Experience
• Simulation and Systems Integration Lab experience
• Understanding of Air System Simulation and Aircraft
• Hardware and Software experience
• Ability to Obtain SAP/SAR Clearances
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
