You will be the Systems Engineer Sr, supporting technical rigor, program discipline, and product development execution across our engineering portfolio.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Systems Engineer Sr, you will help ensure that all phases of the systems engineering process—from requirements definition and decomposition through verification & validation—are executed with excellence. You will support technical reviews, assist in monitoring performance measures, and contribute to cross-functional engineering efforts to ensure design maturity, risk reduction, and mission success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting requirements decomposition and maintaining traceability matrices to ensure system-level requirements are properly allocated and verified at all levels
  • Supporting and participating in technical review processes, including milestone events and gated reviews throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Assisting with integrated technical planning and control, supporting the requirements process and generating technical metrics
  • Supporting tracking of Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) and Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) to assess system design maturity and requirements compliance
  • Contributing to technical integration across critical program functions, ensuring seamless coordination and communication

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
• Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
Desired Skills:
• Experience with requirements management or decomposition
• Proven track record with Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs) including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA/PCA or with technical reviews, milestone events, or gated development processes
• Knowledge and usage of Systems Engineering "V" model processes
• Experience developing and tracking TPMs/KPPs or similar performance metrics
• Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) experience
• Experience with industry standards (ISO 15288, INCOSE SE Handbook, MIL-STD-881/1521)
• Technical program management or product lifecycle management experience
• Experience with Cameo, Tableau, Jira, and Confluence
• Supplier management and supplier forum experience
• Basis of Estimate (BOE) development experience
• Knowledge of Agile SAFe methodology
• Experience briefing senior executives and military personnel
• Security clearance (Final Secret)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
