Description:The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs) is looking for world class talent in Technology Roadmaps-Mission Systems to serve as a Multi-Domain Systems (MDS) SW Technical Lead in support of the Program Manager. This position is within the Skunk Works Battlespace Integration Roadmap. As part of the Mission Systems Roadmaps organization, the MDS Roadmap is responsible for leading the innovative architectures, experimentation, and associated implementation of current and future sensors and weapons onto LM systems and effectively utilized in a multi-domain battlespace.

Our intent is to provide systems and methods that allow tasking and connectivity to be integrated seamlessly together across the battlespace. The BSI roadmap is focused on providing purposeful system adaptation methods that integrate various types of sensors and weapons and providing innovative, affordable solutions that enable rapid integration of mission systems capabilities across the LM Aero enterprise. The MDS SW Technical Lead will be responsible for providing comprehensive, integrated, and executable technical solutions supporting both manned and unmanned systems development. This person will work with peers in the Battlespace Integration portfolio and will be expected to capture and shape Internal Research and Development (IRAD) Funds from multiple organizations within LM.

The SW Technical Lead will also be responsible for capturing and executing CRADs from multiple US Government customers including but not limited to the USAF, DARPA, and others. The person in this role will be responsible for managing a team of technical software and system architects, project managers, and engineers that will execute the programs within the PM’s portfolio.
The SW Technical Lead will coordinate across multiple Business Areas and Industry Partners and must form strong working relationships to accomplish our customer’s missions.

Responsibilities also include:

• Support of Budget tracking and program staffing for the BSI Roadmap
• Technical execution of the BSI Portfolio IRAD and CRAD projects, and research and business pursuits
• Developing technology roadmaps and providing strategic guidance for all BSI technology related areas
• Identify, pursue and manage internal and customer sponsored research and development programs
• Interface with LM Aero, other LM business units, and external customers and suppliers to develop new technologies and transition them to LM Aero programs
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to LM senior management and external customers
• Communicate the vision of BSI solutions needed for the next 15+ years and align the portfolio captures and projects to execute to that vision.

The successful candidate will lead a high performing multi-site, multiprogram team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time management, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated, effective communication skills are necessary as the position will require frequent inter-organizational and outside customer interactions.

Travel is required with as much as 2 trips per month, often to Palmdale or Marietta.

Knowledge of various open architecture initiatives in both embedded and ground-based environments is desired. Extensive knowledge of LM Aero and LM Corporate advanced technologies and current integration experience is desired, including systems engineering, system architecture, and software and systems development. The individual will need to be a proven leader with previous skills and experience managing similar groups of multidisciplinary engineers.

Existing experience with Fighter, Air Mobility, and/or ISR Aircraft Mission Systems is ideal.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from accredited university with a STEM major
• Experience with technical leadership skills
