You will be the Quality Engineer (Level 3) for the Quality Engineering team which is responsible for ensuring the quality of supplied products and processes.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Quality Engineer (Level 3), you will be responsible for integrating, coordinating, and resolving quality concerns related to supplied products and processes. Your role will focus on process execution and administration, including coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to address quality issues.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the issuance, tracking, and closure of Quality Concern Notifications, including Product Quality Deficiency Reports, Notice of Escapes, and Product Recall Process.
  • Utilizing various methods to evaluate and initiate actions to identify and control sources detrimental to quality, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Coordinating root cause, corrective, and preventive action investigations, decisions, and validations, along with area improvement strategy and planning.
  • Collaborating with various functions to assure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Delivering effective methods and initiating improvements to drive and improve overall quality performance, reducing quality escapes to the field.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years in aircraft maintenance with knowledge of aircraft systems/structures, modification practices, coatings applications, specifications, and inspection criteria. Specific experience with modification completion and customer closure processes.
• Strong working knowledge of FOD/Tool Control processes, AS9110 Quality Management System. Capable of developing Quality Assurance Plans and policies
• Quality Assurance experience in active flight operations environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications and apply their intent for evaluating acceptance of quality products.
• Prior experience conducting causal analyses/problem solving, corrective and preventive action, continuous improvement methods and techniques will be required to support aircraft level issues.
Desired Skills:
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and partnering across organizational boundaries with the ability to engage with subject matter experts in a variety of different functional organizations
• Experience in technical report writing
• Experience in presenting to leadership
• Specific Experience with 5th generation aircraft
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
