Provisioning Specialist

Description:Researches and performs technical review of source
documents to identify components for support based
on a Program’s and/or Customer’s maintenance
concept. Analyzes and applies knowledge of
engineering design processes, pre-screen, reading
and interpretation of drawings and vendor/repair
data to include service data notes, associated parts
lists, interchangeability, substitutability, additional
reference numbers, and design change data to
interpret/validate components to be considered
replacement items following examination of
functional operations of parts and assemblies.
Supports discussions related to program
requirements and recommendations for military
and/or commercial customers to include attendance
and support of company-customer provisioning
conferences to substantiate such recommendations.
Works in a dynamic and collaborative environment to
augment the information developed during the
maintenance task analysis process. This includes the
population of information into specified provisioning
databases/tools and will include the appropriate
supply chain data elements for that program.
Performs additional analysis and breakdown of
components based on the maintenance concept for
the component being provisioned.
Makes recommendations for the production and/or
retrofit application of each part number within a
specific end item and/or component or kit by
interpreting engineering drawings and other
engineering change documents as needed. Performs
initial impact assessment of engineering change
Applies the appropriate Logistics Support Analysis
(LSA) dat per maintenance practice and applies
estimated failure factors and/or overhaul rates for
the spare/repair parts of an end item into the provisioning database/tool.
Collaborates with engineering, task analysis, supply
chain, maintenance, configuration management, and
other organizations within the sustainment, suppliers
and customer community to validate data during the
creation and maintenance of sustainment level
Maintains records and secures necessary information
pertaining to engineering, manufacturing, and supply
of parts for the maintenance of the end item
involved, during production and life cycle of the end
item. Incorporates and maintains design changes in
the designated provisioning system to ensure correct
configuration for end item effectivity.
Drafts and submits Problem Reports (PR).
Performs quality reviews in a dynamic and
collaborative environment.
May routinely operate digital data processing and
storage equipment to accomplish job assignments.
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
and engineering source data. Ability to operate
general software systems, such as Microsoft Office
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of source maintenance and recoverability
code assignment. Familiarity with MIL-STD
specifications and DoD documents. Knowledge of
Logistic Support and Sustainment maintenance
concepts. Trade school in Aircraft maintenance or
military aircraft maintenance experience.
