Job Responsibilities
Description:This position will serve as a Functional Manager within the Human Systems Engineering (HSE) engineering team with primary focus on leading a team of Human Factors Engineers. The manager will be required to support a team (~10 individuals) deployed across multiple Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Lines of Businesses (e.g., F-35, IFG, ADP).
The Leader will be responsible for assisting in development of the strategy and vision for Human Factors Engineering efforts for future manned and unmanned platforms. The Leader will work with the multiple business areas to represent HPE in program execution (cost, schedule and technical performance), proposal activities, customer interfaces, industry engagement and L-code responsibilities (employee retention, employee recruitment, labor demand and staffing, performance assessments, and career development).
The leader will also be expected to support direct program execution alongside his/her team and provide frequent coordination and engagement across various design teams, simulation and laboratory teams, and government representatives. Some of these responsibilities will include derivation of Human System Integration (HSI) requirements for air vehicles, consultation on cockpit design and cockpit hardware, application of human factors methods (assessment of workload, situation awareness, pilot/maintainer usability, anthropometric suitability), documentation of Pilot Vehicle interface designs and airworthiness certification of crew system. The candidate must work well within a team, possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with team members ranging from shop floor technicians through executive leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree from an accredited university
- Team leadership experience
- Strong and proven understanding of the Engineering development process (Systems Engineering, Human Factors Engineering)
- Full Spectrum Leadership (FSL) skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships (both internal to LM and with customers)

- Prior mentoring experience
- Experience with Human Systems Integration plan development and execution
- Experience with HR process for hiring and retention of

- Experience with control account management, project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Proven communication skills, presentation skills, team building and ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Customer engagement experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
