Seeking candidates to fill a Casual Part-Time position for the roll out of the Intermittent Fault Detection Test Equipment on legacy and modern fighter aircraft.

This position will staff a casual part-time Field Technician tasked with learning the Intermittent Fault Detection System (IFDS). Candidate will be trained by 3rd party vendor to Lockheed Martin on the complete operation and usage of this test equipment. Following training, candidate will spend roughly 2-3 weeks at Naval Air Station Oceana, VA working directly with US Navy F-18 Electrical / Avionics Technicians in an effort to utilize the IFDS to resolve a multitude of avionics technical issues on F-18 fighter aircraft on site. This exercise will be utilized to validate the troubleshooting capability of the IFDS system on real-time fighter aircraft.

This position will require frequent travel, sometimes on short notice. Part time work will also be required periodically at the Lockheed Martin HPSI facility in Fort Worth, Texas, in support of F-35 ground support equipment field sustainment operations.

Candidate must possess a thorough understanding of military aircraft electrical / avionics sustainment practices, with an emphasis on troubleshooting aircraft wiring, multiplex buses, and RF systems. Candidate must be able to utilize Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Must be able to rapidly learn IFDS system and all associated components of the IFDS system to the point of subject matter expertise.

Job may require flexible work schedule to provide coverage for on-site customer requirements, to include possibility of weekend work requirements. Part-time work hours not to exceed 999 hours in a 12 month period.
Basic Qualifications:
Aircraft electrical / avionics maintenance experience
Aircraft wiring, mux bus, RF system troubleshooting knowledge
Proficient in industry standard maintenance practices.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficient using MS Office Software including; Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook.
Experience using engineering drawings and technical data.
Capable of working in hazardous flightline environment.
Capable of frequently lifting test equipment components
Knowledge of industrial and aircraft maintenance safety standards.
Desired Skills:
Military aircraft avionics sustainment experience;
Military flight-line maintenance experience;
Military avionics back shop maintenance experience;
Understanding of the use and application of military fighter aircraft ground support equipment;
Familiarity with DoD maintenance manuals;
Experience with military standard maintenance practices.
Professional focused on mission success.
Candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
