You will be the Sustainment Engineering F-35 Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Senior Manager.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Sustainment Engineering F-35 Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Senior Manager, you will lead a diverse team of skilled engineers (primarily located in Fort Worth, TX) in the execution of R&M work scope across all F-35 contracts. You will have the responsibility to develop and communicate the vision and strategy for the implementation of processes while leveraging new developments in digital transformation, model-based system engineering, and Engineering for Sustainment. You will empower the team to cultivate and maintain a continuous process improvement culture in meeting schedule, budget, and quality goals that help our customers meet their mission requirements.
You will be responsible for coordinating and managing all organizational staffing actions which include workload analysis, succession planning, recruiting, hiring, and retention initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities also include facilitating and ensuring the professional development of the team by supporting employee career development and growth opportunities. The senior manager will coordinate and manage performance assessments, recognition/disciplinary actions, and skills competency assessments for the organization.
In additional to functional leadership of the team, the selected candidate will be responsible for daily execution of contracted work scope, including pre-award activities of proposal development, Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, and contract negotiations.
The selected candidate will:
- Be the primary point of contact for all F-35 R&M inquiries
- Interface frequently (nearly daily) with F-35 government customers and internal R&M stakeholders
- Coordinate F-35 R&M work scope execution with other Lockheed Martin teams (RMS) and industry partner teams (BAES and NGC)
- Integrate processes and deliverables across four first-line leaders and their teams
- Present R&M concepts, metrics, degraders, and action plans to executive internal and external leadership and stakeholders
- Coordinate with F-35 Program Management and Control Account Managers (CAMs) to ensure work is delivered on time and within the allocated budget
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with the Joint Program Office are necessary for success in this position. Additionally, the role requires simultaneously progressing short-term goals and long-term goals within a dynamic customer and business environment.
Minimal travel required (about 10%).

Basic Qualifications:
• Proven ability to drive positive organizational change that delivers business results aligned with Aero 100 objectives.
• Must hold a Final DoD Secret clearance prior to start. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
• Holds previous F-35 program or like platform experience
• Previous experience leading teams or project teams
• Holds at least 10 years of experience within Systems Engineering or Sustainment, or combined experience and education
Desired Skills:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (Engineering degrees preferred)
- Reliability and Maintainability experience
- Experience interacting with high levels of internal and external leadership and presenting to large (50+ people) groups
- Experience developing Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWS) language, and Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) fundamentals
- Experience managing supplier performance and contracting with suppliers
- Experience developing and managing Tier 2 metrics
- Vemo experience
- ALIS/ODIN experience
- Excellent leadership skills and demonstration of all the tenants of Full Spectrum Leadership
- Effective task organization and communication skills
- Experience with operational excellence (continuous improvement) capability.
- Experience leveraging risk management processes to manage emerging challenges.
- The leader must have executive presence and be able to brief to senior customers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience supporting a government customer.
- Experience in leading technical talent and building pipelines to sustain technical expertise within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to mature and transition technology
- Wide variety of customer experience
- Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of connectivity and support of Sustainment to the overall success of the business.
- Adept at working within matrix organizations for successful execution.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. The successful candidate will be required to communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and functional leadership as well as externally to the customer.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate solutions that produce a positive outcome with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
