What You Will Be Doing
The greater team is proud of its ability to support for the entire Flight Controls lifecycle from design to implementation to testing and flight test. As someone who is fluent in your craft, you will have the opportunity to impact full-scale control law and algorithm development for flight controls, including inner loop design and outer loop design for automated modes. You will also be uniquely positioned to mentor and lead your team to success.
Beyond that, you may also find yourself:
• Developing model-based software for safety-critical systems.
• Developing and maturing technologies from concept through flight testing and transition to aircraft programs.
• Typically utilizing MATLAB, Simulink, and other linear analysis and Simulation software.
• Conducting offline linear and nonlinear 6DOF simulation for design and root cause analysis & offline and real-time testing.
• Supporting software reviews and releases and documenting requirements and design changes.
Basic qualifications (BQs) are the minimum requirements for a candidate to be considered for a position, 3 to 5 BQs are most effective.

Basic Qualifications:
Background in aerospace engineering or related field with flight control law development expertise; experience working the entire program life cycle (design, integration, test)
• Extensive experience with MATLAB/Simulink model-based design and autocode generation
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, equivalent experience/combined education considered
• Active Secret Clearance
Desired skills are additional skills that are nice to have and help narrow down a qualified candidate pool.
Desired Skills:
Ability to work and communicate effectively in a high-performing, multi-site, multi-discipline team.
• Experience working flight test or similar programs along with the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment via rapid prototyping.
• Previous integration and test experience with aviation systems.
• Previous integration experience with software.
• Experience with 6DOF simulations
• Experience with configuration control and configuration management tools (e.g. Git).
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with an investigation within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
