Contract Negotiator Staff - Skunk Works - Level 4

Description:We are Lockheed Martin
A Contracts Negotiator (level 4) is responsible for hands-on management and support of ADP/Skunk Works contracts, negotiations, metrics, and future contract planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of Contracts related activities including writing policies, procedures, and directives on contracts issues; research complex issues and provide recommendations for resolution; develop risk assessments and mitigation plans; assist the senior manager on various special projects that requires a significant amount of skill, knowledge, and business acumen; provide expertise and leadership that will be drawn upon by programs from across the business unit. Should be knowledgeable of both domestic and international contracts. Responsible for all aspects of contract administration on various types of contracts with a variety of customers. Prepare proposals; draft contractual language; conduct fact-finding and negotiation; prepare proposal review briefing packages; prepare and maintain management reports; examine performance requirements; review material estimates, labor estimates and delivery schedules; research contractual issues; advise program personnel and management of contractual rights and obligations; compile and analyze data; maintain an historical record of the contract; and conduct all actions necessary to close the contract.
***A Top Secret Clearance is required to be obtained for this position, but the individual can start employment after obtaining an Interim Secret.
Typical activities can include:
- Proposal preparation, coordination, and management. Includes review and evaluation of customer requests for proposal or revisions to contracts. Provides risk assessments and offers alternative approaches to mitigate risks, including alternative contractual language; evaluates and coordinates proposals; investigates and reconciles significant contract changes involving cost, specifications, schedules, etc.
- Contract negotiation, coordination, management, and closeout.
- Working in conjunction with associated functional organizations and customers to ensure conformance with contractual obligations, to remain cognizant of problem areas, and to implement the required corrective actions.
- Developing and applying advanced concepts, techniques, and standards to assigned activities.
- Developing and applying solutions to complex problems which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.
- Evaluates contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations. Maintains communications to ensure timely contract execution by the parties.
- Ensures final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.
- Special projects as assigned and mentoring earlier career employees.
A level 4 employee Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or above from an accredited college

- Experience with US Government Acquisition Regulations
- FAR/DFARS Experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
