Aircraft Mechanic (APG)

Description:Manages general servicing, repairs, and overhauls of aircraft to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight.

Perform system removals, installations and checkouts as an F-16V General Mechanic, to include flight controls, engine, ECS, seat & canopy, landing gear, hydraulics, and fuel systems.

Ensures Good Housekeeping and Safety practices are enforced. Responsible for customer training via On-The-Job Training and complete work assignments in accordance with joint technical guidance.

May perform periodic inspections and general overhaul and repairs or modifications requiring replacement and assembly of parts.

Provides technical assistance as required. Performs Safety of Flight Completed Maintenance Inspections and In Progress Inspections.

Additional duties and related responsibilities will be assigned as required.

Physical Requirements: Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.

Must be able to work a Flexible Shift Schedule, First or Second Shift.

**Must be a US citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.**
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with F16 mod project management and aircraft modification.

F-16 avionics experience

F-16/F-35 Production experience

Depot and/or Field Modification experience

4 years aircraft avionics experience

Experience reading and understanding F-16 engineering drawings and documents.

Awarded an Air Force 5 to 9 skill level or equivalent USMC or US Navy CDI qualification or possess equivalent civilian experience with associated credential.
Desired Skills:
Experience working with Foreign Nationals and working within foreign cultures.

Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplined team, providing program/modification management and technical assistance consultation, international office management, Time Compliance Technical Orders, Job guides, Crew Board, Precedence Diagrams, Crew Loading and Work Plans. Experience interfacing with all levels of foreign government and LM Aero management.

Knowledge of International Human Resources foreign assignment policies and procedures, as well as in-country Operating Procedures. Familiarity with foreign taxes, foreign banking and managing budgets is beneficial.

Understanding of basic program management principles and applications, expertise in developing technical and manufacturing/modification solutions in an international environment.

Background in F-16 modification and production a definite plus. Excellent communication skills and a thorough knowledge of production tooling application and manufacturing processes.
