Join an exciting team as we develop the next generation of Satellites! Our SmallSat teams are on the cutting edge of implementing new space technologies. As the Systems Engineer – CONOPS, you will be supporting the build out of an end to end on-orbit testbed to prove and demonstrate new and evolving Space Capabilities. This is a dynamic effort supporting both LM and our customers’ objectives to enable new Space Missions. You will work collaboratively fellow engineers, suppliers, production, and leadership to ensure the successful execution of a first-of-a-kind demonstration system.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:
• Support the program Mission Analysis effort to obtain optimal system wide performance
• Develop the system CONOPS of a space-based system to define all phases of system use and operations while continually analyzing results and making adjustments to maximize system capability
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to efficiently satisfy customer requirements
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems across the program lifecycle (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal)
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience in Systems Engineering, or related engineering field with knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts and processes
• Experience in one of the following:
a) Developing CONOPS on space or space related programs
b) Space vehicle / spacecraft operation
• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
Desired Skills:
• 5+ years of professional experience in spacecraft technologies
• Customer interface experience
• Experience participating in Systems Engineering reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR)
• Experience coordinating with multiple key partners
• Familiarity with Model-Based Engineering (MBE) principles and processes
• Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or disciplines outside of Systems Engineering
• Experience with development programs
• Experience with Small Satellite (<180kg) Technologies and Supplier Base
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change
• Ability to build strong relationships with program internal and external customers, lead multi-functional teams and build consensus among peers
• Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, INCOSE Certification, or relevant Graduate Certificate
