Lockheed Martin Space in Englewood, CO is seeking a full-time Early Career Mechanical Engineer (Controls). In this role, you will assist with the development of control systems architectures, requirements, and designs in collaboration with our Navy partners, with many opportunities for career development along the way. You will be an integral part of a growing multi-disciplinary team will be shaping the future of FBM Control Systems.
Additional responsibilities will include:
• Support Controls Subsystem Integration activities
• Assist the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of controls components
• Perform trade studies to select appropriate design solutions
• Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components
• Maintain engineering models and drawings, specifications, and technical analyses to support systems and components
• Ability to work on a multi-disciplined team performing design trades, detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems.
• Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review.
The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of mechanical and propulsion engineering principals, knowledge of, or prior experience with, analysis in fluids, statics and dynamics, heat transfer/ thermal, mechanical design experience, knowledge of Geometric Design & Tolerancing (GD&T). Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering, project management, or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

• Experience with mechanical hardware and systems
• Understanding of mechanical and propulsion engineering principals
• Knowledge of, or prior experience with, analysis in fluids, statics and dynamics, heat transfer/ thermal
• Mechanical design experience
• Knowledge of Geometric Design & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with CAD tool modelling and drafting (Creo or similar)
• Experience with requirement definition, documentation, and verification
• Active DoD security clearance (Secret or higher)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $53,600 - $102,800 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
