What We're Doing:

The Joint Strike Fighter (F-35) Ground Support Equipment team at Eglin AFB, FL, is seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of JSF Support Equipment (SE) Ground Support Mechanic. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the maintenance and operation of ground support equipment for the F-35 aircraft, contributing to the success of one of the most advanced fighter jet programs in the world.

The Work:

As a JSF Support Equipment (SE) Ground Support Mechanic, you will:
• Perform assembly, installation, maintenance, and repairs on program-provided ground support equipment for the F-35 aircraft.
• Locate and diagnose failures, replace defective components, and conduct basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
• Maintain the upkeep of F-35 ground support equipment, including performing occasional nonstandard maintenance based on the nature of the maintenance need.
• Keep appropriate maintenance, inventory, and repair logs, and enter data into the Logistics Management System to document maintenance actions performed on equipment.
• Conduct familiarization of equipment theory and operation to the customer during day-to-day operations.
• Participate in equipment training classes at other F-35 locations and support short-term regional deployments in support of customers, which may require infrequent travel.


Who You Are:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Prior experience in assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of ground support equipment or similar mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in using a variety of hand, power, and test equipment.
• Ability to interpret detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, and manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve equipment failures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate in a constantly evolving maintenance environment.

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years experience with AGE / GSE equipment maintenance with USAF, USMC, or USN
Ability to frequently lift / pull / push equipment over 50lbs
Ability to acquire and maintain a local flightline drivers certification
Capable of working in hazardous flightline environment
Candidate must be willing and able to support operations on both Dayshift / Swingshift / midshift, depending on shop / customer needs
Desired Skills:
Prior military flightline maintenance experience in AGE / GSE sustainment preferred.
Excellent communication skills
Keen ability to be a self-starter
Certified in Refrigerant service and reclamation - CFC/HCFC Refrigerant Processing Certificate
Support Equipment data management experience;
Familiarity with DoD maintenance manuals;
Experience with military standard maintenance practices
Strong personal work ethic and maintenance quality mindset.
Proficient using MS Office Software including; Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook; Highly computer literate
Experience using engineering drawings and technical data.
Knowledge of industrial and aircraft maintenance safety standards
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader
