Candidate will be responsible for test operations as the Lead Flight Test Engineer (FTE) for the flight science team located at the F-22 Combined Test Force (CTF), Edwards AFB, CA. The Senior FTE translates direction of the test ops manager into an executable plan by utilizing and coordinating the available resources in support of flight science testing, including personnel, range assets and support aircraft. The Senior FTE performs test conductor, test director duties and leads the overall planning and test execution of flight science projects at the CTF. Coordinates test ops & flight science discipline engineer team leads weekly meeting. Ensures testing is accomplished within schedule constraints, as well as safely and efficiently IAW with local operating procedures, aircraft limitations and approved Test Execution Packages. The Senior FTE also assigns aircraft test team duties, reviews & signs off on the team’s work product (test cards), and will provide mentoring /on-the-job training opportunities for junior FTE's. In addition he/she will author flight & ground test cards, participate in test card technical reviews & maneuver development, attend safety / technical review boards, and the Aircraft Operating Limits review board.
Weekend work, odd shifts and holiday work may be required to support mission requirements
A level 4 employee Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline
• Previous experience in flight test operations - planning & execution
• Extensive flight test conductor & test director experience
• Experience working at a flight test site, preferable in test operations
• Practical aviation experience / airmanship
• Excellent Communication/Presentation Skills
• Proven team lead or leadership experience
