Description:Aircraft Mechanic inspects, troubleshoots malfunctions, rigs, repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and aircraft systems of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, ventilation, heating and cooling systems and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation; applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems. This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
This mechanic performs periodic, and other hourly, special or calendar inspections. Individual must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical components with the ability to troubleshooting, adjust, repair and replace parts/components; requires broad working knowledge of C-130J aircraft systems to include hydraulics, structures, engines and electrical systems. Mechanic must have basic knowledge of electrical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators, micrometers and support equipment, powered and non-powered. This mechanic must be proficient in the documentation of AFTO 781forms. Duties require that this mechanic: Perform on-aircraft engine runs (if required) to determine engine performance and troubleshooting of engine malfunction, adjust, repair, or replace electrical system wiring and aircraft accessories; perform preflight, thru-flight, and basic post-flight maintenance inspections, perform as Refuel/Defuel, Jack and Tow Team Supervisor. Individual will also be required to perform other miscellaneous aircraft services to include but not limited to: Lox, Hydraulic and Engine Oil, service aircraft tire and perform aircraft lubes. Mechanic must also be proficient at all tasks required to launch and recover C-130 aircraft.
Basic Qualifications:
2 Years Structural Experience or Educational Equivalent.
Intermediate knowledge of aircraft structural installations
Knowledge of the structural techniques and applications to apply towards performing modifications
Ability to utilize drawings to install kit parts
Ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance
Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, and must have an interim secret clearance prior to start so therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
2 years C130/cargo aircraft Structural experience
Experience with close tolerance fasteners
Self-motivated and disciplined individual towards quality work
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
