We are producing the new Hypersonic vehicles and Electronic Assemblies (i.e. harnesses, chassis and racks) for many space based missile systems and satellite programs. As a Manufacturing Engineer Asc Mgr you will lead efforts and play a critical role in keeping the team on track, programs sold/performing, capturing new business and formulating strategy for growth!
In this role you will:
-Assignments are received in task oriented terms. Provides direction to non-exempt and exempt subordinates using established policies and precedents. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency. Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees.
- Ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures, schedules, and work plans. Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to achieve results might cause delays in program schedules and result in the allocation of more resources.
- Majority of liaison is on internal basis with subordinates and supervisors at equivalent level or one/two higher levels. Liaison normally involves specific phases of a project or operation. External contacts are infrequent and involve routine matters.
- Provides direction of daily operations of a section and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required. Develops work assignments, assesses performance. Normally does not perform direct tasks of group supervising, but may assist as workload requires.
- Accomplishes results through lower level subordinate, supervisors or floor leads, peer managers, or exempt professional staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in assignments. Often heads skilled, experienced, and senior level exempt professional staff unit(s).
- You perform as product lead for shop floor support, maintaining manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating change in the build process.
- Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
- You adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- You provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques; ensuring processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
- Provide inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.
- Possess the willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends when required to support production demand.
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must have proven Leadership qualities and be considered an expert authority in manufacturing and electronic assembly processes, integration and test operations and has successfully led a technical team in a factory environment. Candidate must possess and demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership competencies, excellent written and verbal communications and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, schematics and specs for drawing review, approval and producibility.
- Ability to generate detailed work instructions from mechanical and electrical engineering drawings.
- Experience working to an integrated master schedule.
- Able to represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated full spectrum leadership behaviors.
- Knowledgeable within Lockheed Martin Space Systems processes (Earn Value Management Systems, Cost Accounting Management CAM, Manufacturing Work Instructions, Routings, Production Orders, Bill of Materials, Qnotes, FFMEAs, FOE/FOD, CIPS, Specs LMS1000 and EMS200, etc.) or industry equivalent.
- Knowledgeable within Lockheed Martin Space Systems system tools (SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, etc.) or industry equivalent.
- Experience with data analytics concepts and associated systems/tools (ERP, Tableau, eWhiteboard)
- Experience as a mentor / coach
- Experience with managing learning & development plans
- Experience with talent management and organizational development
- Fundamental understanding proposal process, with proven experience desired
- Aerospace or defense systems electrical and mechanical assembly experience or experience in a similar hardware type processing facility.
- ESD and Ordnance missile assembly, integration and test experience.
- Basic tooling, fixture and equipment design experience.
- Basic understanding of Additive Manufacturing CAD/CAM and 3D Printing capability.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma experience, Green or Black Belt Certification.
- Demonstrated capability to work with other companies and cross functional teams in a formative environment, as evidenced by excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to organize, motivate, and lead a group of diverse personnel that includes customers, partners, and suppliers
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Motivated self starter who works effectively under tight deadlines.
- Possess or have the ability to be approved for a SECRET security clearance.
